automatic oven cleaning?
What goes on when u clean your oven? NEver did it before--I know its likea 4 hour process..what do I expect? Is it going to smell? Is it going to smoke? Help!

I have never noticed a smell. It locks itself b/c it gets extremely hot. Not too much else to do though.

i tend to set mine up either at night or on a cold day... it may smoke if you have stuff on the bottom (i actually had to cancel mine once because the smoke was sooooo bad since i had spilled meat juices on the bottom)... the kitchen will get hotter and i personally do smell a slight smell......
because it gets so hot it tends to make the room warmer, which is why i usualy do it at night

My MIL used the self cleaner on her over when we were there. There was definitely a smell AND the microwave (hood) fan went on because it got hot over the oven (This happened automatically at about 2 hours - I would think this microwave had a heat sensor as it is a new microwave.).

ok..I had it set, and then it started smoking & the smoke detector went off, so I shut it off
I am scared out of my mind about this for some reason!
There is something cooked to the bottom b/c when I made beer bread it overflowed and the butter that was melted on the bread was all over the bottom of the oven..It ried my best to clean, but I guess my best is not good enough.....

My mom always did it in the summer/spring/fall so she could open the windows. I do the same.

same here. i have a newer stove and it smells and it takes like 3 hours so I dont do it in the winter.
