Help! Shoes for this dress!

I am wearing this dress to my niece's Bat Mitzvah this weekend. Sorry so small but this is the only pic online I could find:



I plan on wearing a small black jacket over it and opaque black tights underneath.

The ceremony is at 9:45AM this Saturday, and the reception is immediately after and goes until 5 or 6pm. I know this is more of an evening dress but according to my stepmom this is supposed to be a really swanky affair with all the bells and whistles because my stepsister wants to make a big scene with this

But ANYWAYYYyy...

I am going shoe shopping today. Should I get just regular black pumps, or could I get a pair of high heeled boots for this? The reason I'm asking is because I REALLY need a new pair of boots and don't get to go shopping too often given our money situation so I want to avoid buying something I will only wear a few times. I know I can always use my pumps for other events, but I wear a lot of high heeled boots for work since I like that look...

So, I figured I would put it out there for you fashion divas. I will listen to you, so whatever you tell me to get, I will!

JMHO, but I think the dress is a bit too revealing & short to wear to Temple.

I know you asked for suggestions for shoes, but I'm not too good with that stuff.

Good thing I wasn't asking for opinions about it being appropriate. Maybe others read the part about me wearing a jacket and opaque tights so they couldn't be quite as helpful as you.

Is the jacket you are wearing black? How about red shoes or another color that would make the whole outfit pop?

I am a big fan of funky shoes, and looove Betsey Johnson. I thought these would be fun for several outfits that I have so will actually get a lot of use out of them.

I said in the other post that I know this isn't everyone's style, so I'm expecting a lot of these guys in people's heads

But I'm confident enough to pull these off. Everyone always loves my funky pieces when I wear them at parties....

as I posted in the other thread, love the shoes and now seeing the pic of the dress I think they will look great.

I love Betsey Johnson too. Do you have any memory of the Marc Jacobs mouse shoes incident on here? Those were my mouse shoes I love funky pieces!

I love these boots! Very cute and I think they would look great with the outfit. I would make sure to get an insole pad so you can dance without your feet hurting.
