Pottery Barn in Roosevelt Field Closing now!
I thought when Restoration Hardware left Roosevelt Field that PB would be sticking around but they're closing now too! We got an email today about it (prob b/c we've spent so much $$$ there ).
Jan 17th they close their doors. The only stores left nearby now are Whitman or NYC. Such a bummer.

I got the same email - and I've never shopped there. It's such a shame. I figured for sure - "upscale" stores like PB would be a staple in RF.

Got the same e-mail.
Honestly, with the economy being what it is, and for so long, I am not shocked.
Unemployment at 10% for the national average, most of that figure people out of work for 6 months-1 year or longer, and even more underemployed... people are just not going to spend the money on the "name". People are putting off houseware purchases or are going to much cheaper substitute products.
There are millions of people who are in dire financial straits due to prolonged job loss... people who made very good salaries... Pottery Barn's target market is not spending and can't spend like they used to.

First Fortunoff, now this! What is the world coming to????
Honestly though, for as much money as I spend at Pottery Barn, it's almost ALWAYS purchased online and not in a store.

Re: Pottery Barn in Roosevelt Field Closing now!
I'm assuming it will be like RH was when they left Roosevelt Field and everything will be on sale until the store is cleared out.
May take a look today.

Re: Pottery Barn in Roosevelt Field Closing now!
I was just in there. They are giving an extra 20% off on anything ALREADY on sale - but then it is final sale - no returns. Otherwise it's the regular prices. They said the PBK is not closing just the regular PB. It is a zoo in there though and the sales people are not helpful at all. I bought a whole bunch of curtains that were marked on sale only to find out after waiting on line for 20 min that it was a mistake and they were not on sale and hundreds of dollars more AND, there was a saleswomen helping me!!!
