Random assortment of gifts...
I have someone close to me that gives the most random gifts ever. It's actually quite comical, but slightly annoying
This person is my age (early 30's), an artist, financially stable, and VERY close to DH.
A few examples - we got an "antique" cookbook for Christmas last year, I received a beautifully wrapped gift of citrtonella candles, a box of tea and hand soap for my birthday, for our wedding we got a gorgeous salad bowl from a place we didn't register at, and yet had a similar one on our registry, for my shower for she gave a few books and hand puppets from Ikea and a changing pad she bought at a flea market.
Now, I'm certainly not ungrateful for the gifts, don't get me wrong, but just sometimes, the randomness of them catch me off guard....

Oh... anything you don't need. I have a Xmas Eve party Thurs night that DH and I need to bring a gift to so we can play that Sectret Santa where you can steal a gift. LOL!

at "beautifully wrapped gift of citrtonella candles".
When I was a kid My Aunt would bring this HUGE black garbage bag of random gifts for Christmas and she just distributed it out to the kids. If I didn't like one of the gifts I said "No Thank you" and my mom looked at me like what did you say? dont say that just take it lol... so when I get weird gifts I just take it and say Thank you, and if I dont want it, it goes staight to the garbage or it gets donated.

Re: Random assortment of gifts...
I had a work shower for and 2 women, it was a joint gift, must have gone through their homes and found unopened baby stuff they had lying around. Everything was "wrapped" but it was brands that don't exist anymore, covered in a layer of dust and just looked "old" Baby Disney, anyone?
Come to find out: one of the 2 women was moving that weekend and the other had a bed bug infestation. I'm guessing they filled up a gift bag with their leftovers.
Needless to say: it's still in the trunk so I can donate it to Salvation Army.
