I'm also curious about this; last year we had pretty much just moved in so no one got tips; but i should probably do it this time around...just not sure who and how much.

Landscapers? What about UPS and/or FedEx if you get a lot of deliveries.

I give the mailman and each garbage man $20.

Landscapers - My landscaper doesn't do snow removal so I don't see the guys over the winter. I get the guys who come each week gcs to have lunch in the fall.

FedEx/UPS - I don't tip them. I tried the last 2 years and by the time I get to the door they have dropped the package and are pulling away from the house. I have no idea what they even look like.

Re: Tipping for the holiday season, sanitation/mailperson etc...

I tip the person that delivers our newspaper but they are the only one.

We have a PO box so our mail deliveries to the house are minimal. We don't get too many UPS or FedEx deliveries and the landscappers get paid a lot and don't do anything above and beyond, just the basics - here and gone in about 20 minutes.

I've considered tipping the trash collectors but they come at all different times and I've heard that if you leave the envelope taped to the inside of a lid it may be stolen as people drive around looking for that during the holidays. With only two of us our garbage is minimal too - we don't ask all that much of them. I saw some poll results that indicated the majority of people don't tip the trash collectors - made me think the "holiday greeting" card they leave with their names each Christmas is hoping to change that when it's not really the norm that they would have you think.

We moved into our house in August. I've been wondering how much to tip the garbage men - we pay for garbage service though so it kind of stinks :/
Our mailman SUCKS and we've been having problems since day 1 - def not planning on tipping anything!! It will prob get worse nowChat Icon

We've gotten a ton of UPS deliveries this fall with baby shower gifts so I would like to tip the UPS guy, I've just never seen him!

Me, too. We also leave out beer and gatorade for the garbage men during the summer when it gets super hot.

I don't tip anyone and never have.

Neither one of them go above and beyond plus the garbage men change and I have 2 people delivering my mail a week.

The only person I will tip this year is my UPS lady. She is so sweet and I have been doing a lot of online shopping that she has a least once or twice a week.
