1st tri and NO desire to drink water
is it me??
I normally have/had no prob drinking it...heck guzzling down bottles of it all day.
Im lucky if I got through 1/2 a cup today.
So I have settled for iced tea cause Im dehydrated and I know it (my lips are peeling like crazy amongst other things.)

I haven't had ANY water. The thought is repulsive. I eat a lot of watermelon and pineapple.....not sure if that does any good though!

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
I was a big water drinker before I got pg. But in the beginning I had a little trouble too. I just didn't feel well, I didn't want to put anything in my mouth sometimes!
I just did what I had to do to get through those days. Now I can't get enough water, and it has to be frezzing cold! So I'm sure I'm making up for it now!!

I didn't start drinking enough water until I was in my 2nd trimester. I had no desire to do ANYTHING for 14 weeks

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
I had a similar problem, but I wound up severely dehydrated and in the hospital. I started drinking water with electrolytes so that way I hydrating myself more than I would just drinking straight water. I also drank vitamin water, and gatorade.
You can also try diluting some juice in water or maybe put lemon in water. Anything to get you hydrated.

Liquids are liquids, IMO... I am not a water fan, never have been, but I can drink seltzer all day long! Whatever you can drink is good

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
I'm not a big water drinker either. I started cramping pretty bad...even had to go to the doctor to get checked out. He didnt find anything wrong but asked me if I was drinking water (which I wasnt). He told me how important it is and once I started drinking enough water daily the cramping went away. I know its a pain but its so important...especially to stay hydrated

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
i haaaated water in my first tri - just try to drink anything!
i found that i only wanted water if it was ICE cold...
otherwise i was drinking caffeine-free soda (gingerale is my fave!), lemonade, iced tea, etc.

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
I had this , but i never really liked water. I found it disgusting when i got pregnant. All I wanted was lemonade. I ruined ginger ale for myself forever because I drank too much of it. I drank alot of lemoney things.

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
Same here. I never really liked water. The only way I could get it down was with Crystal Light flavors in it- but now I don't use those anymore because of the artificial sweetner. I think 4C makes those flavor sticks with Splenda instead of Aspartime- I have to check into that.
I started drinking juice, soda, etc- but there is just SO much sugar in that stuff- and since I can't have diet- I don't want to pack on pounds from what I'm drinking.
It's a no win!

NONE at all!!! I cant get myself to drink it! And i used to carry around this HUGE water bottle that my husband got a new one every christmas for me!
Im eating loads of cabbage, grapes and soup though so I guess that's good?
I am embarassed to say, lately the only thing that keeps me from getting sick is soda (Something I HAVE NEVER drank)

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
Im almost in my 3rd Tri, and throughout my 1st I had no problem drinking water, it's been the 2nd Tri that all I want is Coke, caffeine free and ice cold or Peach Snapple. I get a little water in here and there, but it doesnt do it for me , ya know...LOL

Re: 1st tri and NO desire to drink water
Right after my BFP I had trouble drinking enough water b/c I felt so sick all the time. Now since about 8 weeks I can't get enough. I drink way too much, and have to get up at least 3x a night to pee. I find it helps to have something w/ a straw to drink out of. I have this big plastic starbucks cup for ice coffee with a cover & straw. I fill it w/ a ton of ice and water or half water half seltzer. Of even water w/ lemon. Drinking the ice tea is better than drinking nothing. Try making unsweetened decaf at home so you don't have to worry about too much caffeine. Seltzer helped me with m/s also, and it comes in so many flavors. I love the sparkling lemon water from target the archer farms. Early on I would fill a glass with ice half water half juice.

Deb... I could not drink water at all the 1st trimester... but I COULD drink lemonade... so I just made country time and drank that constantly so I felt I was getting my water in! Also... flavored seltzer!
