So who else got the "when you are having a baby speech?" this weekend

I swear this was the first question out of everyone's mouth.

Finally my aunt walked in and said "Oh, Holly, you look really skinny!", I said "thanks, I've been exercising!"

and her response was "oh, that's too bad, I thought it was because you were PG and throwing up. you should lay off the exercise a little."

ok, seriously????

Surprisingly, I got the "make sure you're definitely ready before you have kids" speech from my cousin this weekend!

They have a 3 year old and a 7 month old hehehe

People never think before they speak!! I got the ohhhhhh you need to wait a few years before you have kids speech from my mil
She thinks it would be very stupid if we had a baby now - um thanks for the opinion that I never asked for

My family knows better than to ask me that lol. But I am dreading Christmas Eve and my ILs.

I got the "we hope next year we will have a little one here for thanksgiving"


Dont get me wrong I want to have a baby, but not on anyones time but mine and DH, it seems though that DH is itching a whole lot more than me!

I never understand how so many people think it's ok to ask this question... how do you know the couple hasn't been trying for ages, and this question is just upsetting them even more!! People think that you can just snap your fingers and decide to have a baby... it doesn't work that way!!

Luckily we didn't get this question this weekend. He did find a way though to mention how having grandkids would be the happiest time of his life right now. Ok, I get it Dad.

Last weekend I said something like "Did you hear the good news" to my Dad and right away he goes "You're pregnant!" I was just telling him I was watching my niece.

Both of our families are ALWAYS asking us when we are going to have a baby so we were already expecting and dreading it for Thanksgiving, and our families did NOT let us down!! They asked a TON of times. It really depressed me.

It's a hard question to answer and to play off when you are really upset that your not pregnant yet.

All my friends and family who have kids aren't married so my husband tells me when they ask us when we're having a baby to ask them when they're getting married

We actually might start telling some close family and friends that we're trying, we decided to give it one more month before telling anyone. Hey, maybe we could use the extra prayers?

Since MIL knows were trying I got that "so when u do get pregnant you're going to tell me right away, right?" speech. I said of course but please don't expect me to tell u over the phone. She was like really? I'm like yes really, I want to tell u in person. I was surprised she really expected me to tell her over the phone. Yes we live out of state but we do see them at least once a month.

I hate this question...especially since we are trying and are trying not to tell anyone...but my SIL just got married so I deflect to her now and follow with "so how do you like it" grrrrrrrrr....
