update in the house but no pics yet

I am waiting on photos until a room is completed. Bedroom will have the carpet installed monday we hope so it will be completed by then. I have to say things are taking longer then expected but that is the way things roll i guess.

So far: main bedroom is now sheetrock laminated all walls and ceiling, spackled/sanded, painted, trim primed (window, doors, base) door primed, closet is installed just waiting to get doors today. So the next few days I have to repaint the walls (when my father installed the trim he scraped most of the walls <sigh> so one coat is good) put another coat on trim, clean the room out and have the carpet done. oh put new baseboard covers on yesterday.

The small bathroom was gutted, ran new electric, plumbing opened another doorway so its now a breezeway to the other side of the house and now my BIL is doing the vent for the dryer and should start to sheetrock. This should be completed sunday since he needs to take off Thurs and sat. We are doing a laminate peel and stick floor since it would be faster and I liked the pattern on it.

Saturday IF there is no rain we are then getting a new electrical service put in upgrade from 60amp to 200amp which is $$$ but needs to get done now. Then the following week the guy is coming back to do more exterior lights, fix some exterior plugs, rewire the basement lights and hardwire some smoke & co alarms.

After those two rooms are done we are going to see if we can complete the living room and dining room before christmas if BIL has the time with us assisting more to move things along faster.

Man this is a LOT of work but its fun. DH stayed home this week and racked out all the dead leaves and found beer cans from the 70s' (pull tabs) and weird stuff all over and we are at the point of really needing a dumpster. That is it for now! Hope to have some before and after pics next week!

sounds like you have been super busy but in a good way.....congrats

everything takes longer than you think it will, that is something i learned by our 3rd project, the molding that is still being done...so dont get discouraged, take your time and do things right the first time!

but congrats again on all the work and i cant wait to see pictures!!!!!!!

wow you made A LOT of progress already!! i am serious, our house doesn't really need any major work just cosmetics and decorating and we barely have the living room and kitchen done and we've been here 2 months! so you are doing great!
