I need HELP. Going back to work next week and NOTHING fits.

so, I managed to lose about 40 or so of the 50 or so pounds I gained during my pregnancy.

but the weight is in a place I normally don't have an issue with...my belly.

nothing buttons, and if it does, I look like a 10 lb sausage in a 5 lb casing. NG!!!!

and I am going back to work Wed, 12/2. I can't go in my sweats!!! but I don't want to spend a lot of $$ on clothes when I know I am not going to be like this for very long (as soon as I get the ok from my dr it's running and crunches for ME!) but I can't go to work naked.

I am trying to find something that will look good now, and that I can still perhaps use when I lose the belly...I was thinking sweater and wrap dresses.......but WHERE to find them?!?!?

can anyone help a new and haggard mom out and post up some stuff for me. help me. tell me where to go.

NY & Company had a BUNCH of nice wrap dresses ones recently, as well as a number of empire waist dresses which are great too. They're sure to have a blast of a sale on Black Friday??? Prints are helpful... I have a ton of wrap dresses from Loft, they were perfect for work, I didn't get into maternity stuff until I was six months or so, the wrap style really camouflaged the extra belly without making me feel like a house, and they were great post-baby.. They must have a good sale too, check online for styles, if you're busy friday maybe you can shop online, their stuff is work-perfect..

Check out H&M too - they had a lot of nice, inexpensive stuff that could be adapted for work.

You can also try ebay - I bought a lot of my maternity clothes on there - just type NWT and you'll get last season's clothing, new, with tags, but seriously discounted.

Last but not least, do you have any friends that can help you out? My good friend went back to work a few weeks ago - I'm still on maternity leave, and I'm a size or two bigger than her normally so I gave her all my suits to wear until she loses the weight.

I know what you mean...it takes a few months. My best friend is leggings, sweater dresses. If you need to buy a cheap pair of jeans in a larger size and rotate tops. Skirts also.

I think your best bet would be Rainbow (their work pants are cheap and look good. You probably won't be wearing them long so why waste $$ on them)

alot of times NY*Co has knit dress pants..very comfy and good for work.

and with their coupons you can get pretty good deals in store or online.

Leggings and sweater dresses or even opaque tights and sweater dresses...that was my savior right after the baby!! Def try H&M

I had the same issue with belly size and it was so hard to get new clothes b/c the rest of my body was still a size 4 and my belly was like a size 10. So nothing looked right. Get spanx. Super tight ones. It worked wonders for me those first few weeks/months!

New York and Company is having everything 50% off this weekend and you can use coupons on top of that.....soooo dangerous

Why not just continue to wear your maternity pants? Or just stop in Motherhood & get the dress pants they sell (Really cheap too- $30 ) and get a few pairs with the elastic waistband?

I can't wear maternity clothes b/c the ones that I have are for summer weather. nothing warm.

and besides...there is NO EFFING WAY I am wearing them. I hated them then, and I hate them more now.

I just returned to work a couple of weeks ago, and was in the same boat. I did NOT want to spend any $$ on new clothes, but I had to cave. I could button my old pants, but they did not look good at all. And they were uncomfortable.

They have some elastic waist dress pants and a good sale on sweaters right now. I bought some basics for back to work and stuck with dark colors.

I also got some cheap stuff at Kohls, but I like the stuff from NY&Co better.

so, I walked down to Old Nayy (the "mall" by me has only a few stores) and lo and behold..they are having a big sale!

I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans (all of their jeans are $15 EACH!), a sweater dress and a top for $74 dollars.

luckily I can get away with jeans at work on Fridays and maybe one other day. I'll probably pick up one or two more dresses and a few more blouses and call it a day.

NY & Co is calling my name...i just have to get out to one!!!
