Where to you shop for quality dining room furniture?
I'm looking for DR furntiure and would looe some suggestions on places to look (either online or IRL)
I want to get something that will last a long time and is real quality so we are willing to spend some $. It will be our every day table since we don't have a Eat in kitchen and we have two little kids. So quality and durability are really important. Our taste is transitional (traditional/classic but with touches of modern - not too formal or ornate)
What do you guys suggest? What do you have? Are you happy with it?
TIA

I have a Thomasville set-the quality is wonderful. They have the kind of furniture you pass down generations. They have all kinds of styles from modern to traditional. Check out Thomasville and Ethan Allen.

DH and I have just started browsing lol We were t the Smithhaven Mall and decided to look at the Macy's Furniture store, thinking it's be way too pricey - but it wasn't! They had some really nice sets on sale and clearance for a good price.

We have a Thomasville set too - It was a hand me down from my parents and it's at least 20 years old and still looks brand new.

Re: Where to you shop for quality dining room furniture?
I bought mine from Sasssyz dad - he's a vendor on here under Kitchens - Dynamic Kitchens and Furniture I think it's called. He made the style I wanted, in the color I wanted, in the size I wanted, in solid wood (I got oak but you can get whatever you want). And the price was very reasonable compared to the prices of the poorly made sets we saw in the stores.

We looked in a LOT of stores and ended up getting a Thomasville set. It was a bit pricy, but a set we plan on keeping forever and was better made than most of the sets we saw.

We liked a few at Drexel heritage too but they were realllly pricey (IMO).
I was surprised how nice the sets macy's had were. I love Thomasville. Our dining table is from Raymour but our bedroom set is from Thomasville and it is made so well. So happy with it.
