AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

I recvd a coupon in the valpak yesterday for carpet cleaning service. I called and they said it would be $59 for the basement. Then I told them my dog has had accidents down there and they said we can use a special deodorizer and then some sort of pet stuff so the dog won't smell their scent anymore. Great!! $89. Ok.

Then she said we only take cash but when I told her I didn't have any (because she wanted them to come over in an hr to do it) she said ok just write out a check then.

They came in 2 beat up cars, 2 young guys, with this hand held machine like you rent. Ok they said it will get the job done and they advertise as pet odor specialists so I trust them.

They finish and I look down there looks fine (carpet is dark). But they moved nothing!! Not even a chair when they said they would. Light Furniture they would move.

They finally take my check after the guy goes on saying they really only take cash. I asked for a receipt and they said they don't give them! What!!!

They leave and I go down there. It is soaked!!!!! I mean puddles soaked! And it smells. I go back down there later last night and it still smells and is soaked.

This morning I go down and the whole basement smells like urine and the carpet is all sticky and still wet in some places. I am so angry. My kids play down there all day long. We just set it up so nice and then they come and ruin my carpet!!

I call to complain before canceling the check and they tell me that all complaints for the prior day must be made after 3pm and to call back. I got so angry and called and cancelled the check right away!!! And I had to waste $32 to cancel it but it is better then $89 going through I guess.

Sorry to go on and on but ugh!

I am so mad!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

Since the carpet is soaked, it sounds like they didn't suck up all the soap and stuff with the machine, only put it down.

I would go rent one of those machines from a supermarket, and re-do it myself. At least to get that water up.

So sorry they were duds!Chat Icon

that sux, Im sorry.

You definitely need to get down there though and suck up all the water before it turns into a mold issue.

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

that sux, but I have to tell you that DH used to work for ChemDry and the stuff that they used for pet urine, always smelled way worse before it got better. He says is has something to do with the way it breaks down the urine. If that is true with what they used as well, they should have told you!Chat Icon And it should not be that wet, that is crazy! Def. use a dehumidifier.

I did write down everything but I didn't take pictures. You can't see anything because the carpet is really dark. It is that indoor/outdoor type.

No wonder they only take cash and don't give you a receipt. This way they can say that they were never there and you have no proof.

I kept the lights on all day and the fans and used my small carpet cleaner to get the dirty water up. I also poured an entire box of that carpet deodorizer down and seems to have helped. This took all day to try and correct. Ridiculous!!!

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

If you are really that annoyed, i'd find out if you can take out an ad in a local pennysaver to let people know to never use that company...

i've seen it done before.

i do make mental note of it too!

PLUS! these boards are a great resource of boosting people's reputation, or totally taking it down!

I will never use them. and thanks for the info!!!

I know you probably don't want to spend even more money, but I would call Stanley Steamer and have them come re-do it. That really stinks!

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

I would report them to the Better Business Bureau - I had to do that for one of the company's that screwed us.

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

I AM SO GLAD YOU POSTED THIS!

We got the same flier in the val-pack and its been sitting on my counter waiting to call them- I will definately not use them now

I am so sorry that you had this issue- I think you should consider contacting the BBB and maybe a TV News Station- what they did could cause a mold issue and that could be costly to fix- so you definately want to get them on the record!

You can not post something like that in an ad- its defamation and you could be liable for damages

Wow, that is ridiculous. What I find pretty funny is that they tell you to call back at a certain time to complain, nice company! Thank you for sharing your experience, only way to hurt a company like that!!!

Re: AVOID At Your Service Carpet Cleaners!!!

I now have to get another service in to fix the damage. I can't even let my kids down there and they used the basement all day long. I tried to get the water up with my home carpet cleaner but it is not powerful enough. The smell is so bad I can't even leave the basement door open. The smell comes up stairs. I am soo mad. I tried keeping the high hats on, fans, the dehumidifier and it didn't work. The lights and fans were on for 24 hrs so I can only imagine what my electric bill will look like!!!!!!!!!!

I lost their number when I tried to call them back again to let them know I cancelled the check and that I am not paying for what they did. And really I should have them pay to fix the damage. I tried to search for them and can't find them anywhere. When I called 411 they have no record of a service like this on the island. The guy that came to clean the carpet, he calls himself Mr. Francis (he was like 20) said they are based out of Hicksville.

Does anybody have the val pak still with their info by any chance? I really don't want them to try and cash it and then it not go through and have them call me screaming.

OK - so I had a feeling this was the same company I had used for my MIL's house, but until I saw the number I wasnt sure...
I had made the appt for her back in April or May, but the company went by the name "All American Carpet Cleaning." Everytime I see a 433 carpet cleaning number, I know its them and avoid them...they use different names.
We had the same issue - the guys came in a beat up old car with no logo or anything. They were very unprofessional. I initially found it strange that a company that needs 4 different phone #'s with extensions too wouldnt have a company car or have their employees wear something with the company name/logo...plus their equipment was ancient!
They broke an antique tiffany lamp my MIL had in her bedroom and she was so upset. I called to complain when the guys were still there and they told me that we didnt have to pay anything for the cleaning. They actually did a pretty decent job, but the lamp was worth over $350 and the cleaning job was only $140. I could have made a big deal so that they would actually pay US, but my MIL just wanted them out of the house and now I know better than to use a company I know nothing about.
