Isn't it puzzling...
that we do all that we do to get pregnant (eat certain foods, take special vitamins, carefully plan and implement BD scheduling, observe CM and much more) and yet we can still have all this trouble TTC'ing while women living in poverty, with a lack of nutrition and access to proper health care have no problem getting pregnant??
BTW - I don't mean this in any way to be rude towards anyone, I teach a class about global issues including poverty and children and it got me thinking...

I think about this alot actually.. Obviously timing has something to do with it and I wonder if actually "not trying" helps.

i totally believe that not trying helps. i believe that all of this concentrating on our bodies messes us up in the end, but i havent found a way to avoid that LOL

i think its bc we stress ourselves out! if i could just try to NOT think about ttcing for like 5 seconds i think it would really help!

So far every person I am close with "accidently" got preggo...my friend was trying for a year and she stopped for a few months due to surgery and the month she wasn't trying she got pg...
How can you not think about it or be calm or relaxed when your TTC? It's really hard!
If I'm out this month next cycle Im not using opks and preseed...and Im BD every other day from cd 10-20.

I thought about this too and brought it up to DH... its not fair!!! Sorry to be gross but my mother says that some people are just so fertile that all they have to do is pull down their pants and their pregnant

I'm really starting to believe the saying "a watched pot never boils." I guess this metaphor can definitely apply to ttc. It took my sister 8 yrs to get pregnant with my oldest nephew who is now 7. Somehow she accidentally got pregnant with her son is now 4 (a very welcomed blessing) and now she just found out she is pregnant again (very big shocker to say the least but welcomed surprise  ) so she only tried for the first and he took the longest

I was just thinking this- like it can't be "that" hard to get pregnant, can it? A have a few friends who all got pg more than once unplanned. They aren't poverty stricken or anything though. Just really fertile!!

When I spoke to my dr about TTC the only thing she said was stop smoking, drinking and doing drugs. If you don't do those normally just have fun and what ever you do "Don't Try"!!! All the changes is what throws your body off. Your changing a system that ran well for how many years?? Thats how I got "knocked" up 2.

I think aboutthis all the time, before I got preggo... I was struggling with cysts and had scar tissue on the uterus, and I would see random people, drinking, smoking...all while pregnant, who obviously didnt have a care in the world and yet I was killing myself to get "fit" enough to have a child...

I'm with you there. I've always tried to be fairly relaxed about the process. I'm nowhere near as insane about it as some people i've seen. I've never temped, charted or checked EWCM - i just didn't want to get that detailed or precise about it. I started using OPK's after about 4 months of trying because i wanted to verify that i was actually O'ing. They confirmed that for me and we do try and time BD'ing around it, but i don't keep track of the days or follow anyone else's plan . I've only POAS once in 10 months of trying! I don't have that 'need' to POAS during the 2WW, i'm fine with just waiting for AF to show up. Yes, the waiting is hard, but i'm able to put it out of my mind and just chill out.
So.. i guess what i'm saying is that i think i'm fairly relaxed anyway about this, and still nothing has happened! And after 10 months of nothing, i'm now into my 2nd month of seeing an RE - which to me makes it VERY hard to 'relax' and not think about it. When i'm going every few days to have blood drawn and ultrasounds to check egg production/follicle maturity, its really hard to not think about what is going on.
So, how else am i supposed to 'relax' and just let things happen? I really wish it was that easy, because i'm as relaxed as i can be while going to see an infertility dr.
