Re: If your SO has a habit of leaving everything everywhere...
I do this and DH hounds me till I put it away. He's constantly asking me "do you need this" or "is this garbage". So I just put it in a pile till I'm ready to go through it.
Sorry I couldn't be more help

The worst is the shoes - EVERYWHERE!
we have a basket thing next to the front door for shoes, but i still trip over them in the living room and in the middle of the hallway.
Whoever has words of wisdom, please help!

I do the worst thing....I clean up after him. I know I shouldn't but he will leave his stuff everywhere for weeks if I don't do it.
Nagging & asking doesn't work. His mother messed everything up for me. She did everything for him & now I get to deal with her creation

OK, this is what I do with DH stuff. I literally go around every few days and pick up all the stuff hes left laying around and lay it on his side of the bed. This goes on for a few nights usually. Then he gets annoyed that he has to keep cleaning it off before he goes to sleep every night that he puts it away.

I got tired of him leaving his clothes on the floor of the bedroom RIGHT next to the hamper. So I shoved them in his pillowcase.
He was SO mad. I said, if you can't walk two feet to the hamper, I'll pick it up and walk two feet to your pillow.

This is exactly me!!! I just have a pile now. My clothes never make it to the closet either. Poor DH. He's forever tripping over my shoes and other crap.

I love the pillow one. That is great.
My DH always leaves this stuff from his pants pockets all over the kitchen counter, so sometimes when I get annoyed that he has put it all there again. I put it all on the floor when he isn't looking and when he gets up from the couch, he gets a surprise. Than he puts it where it's supposed to be.....the bedroom in his caddy that I bought him for all of this stuff. It does work. I don't have to worry about his clothes, he puts them in the hamper.

Re: If your SO has a habit of leaving everything everywhere...
My husband gave up having his own desk in our house. I think that was a big mistake! His old desk is now my scrapbooking area. He now works at the kitchen table from his laptop. I should be thrilled with this arrangement but now the kitchen table and my scrapbook desk and much of the rest of the house have become a mess of his stuff. I thought that him giving up his desk was a huge favor to make space for me but it was really a way of getting me to be the one to organize his life. I do not mind but it is not what I expected when he said he didn't need his desk anymore!!!!!

Re: If your SO has a habit of leaving everything everywhere...
I gather it all up and throw it on his dresser. That gets him to put it away REAL fast.
I also read in a parenting magazine that a woman had nice wicker baskets and she had all of her kids put their stuff in there so they didn't leave it around. At the end of the week, they would put the stuff away. You could try this with DH (if he even remembers to put it in the basket) or if he's still uncooperative, you could throw it all in the basket when you straighten up and he could put his stuff away where it belongs at the end of the week.
