I love the Maclaren twin techno. It steers great, it relatively lightweight for a double, has almost a full recline, plus an extendable leg rest. The biggest con is that it does not have a tray.

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
I loved my sit and stand, so I just bought a tandem sit and stand since DH will only be 27 months when baby gets here. When he is a little older, I can remove the seat so he can stand on the back.

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
Im also getting a double stroller that turns into a sit and stand. I have been looking A LOT but this seems like the best idea with Nina almost 2. She can sit in the stroller part for a little while and then I can remove it and turn it into a traditional sit and stand.

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
i have the city mini double and the chicco trevi.
Pros of the citi mini- handles all terrain really well. , very sturdy, comfortable. lots of storage
cons -heavy ( but much lighter than baby joggers other versions which i had and returned) when folded it is still big, accessories are $$$ and most ( if not all) generic versions dont work well with it.
chicco- pros, light weight ( relatively speaking), folds up really well
cons- storage is less than i would like and the covers that go over the children heads dont really do anything. thy don't protect from sun rain wind etc. they are way too small. on the jogger they are huge and you can fully expand them or not. its great.
GL!

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
sit and stand all the way!! It's a bit heavy but at almost 3, Laila probably won't sit in a stroller that much so it give her the jump seat spot to stand or rest. I will show you mine next time you are here if you want.

Love my Phil and Ted Sports buggy. It is a jogger that is no larger than a single stroller, handoles great and in fact becomes a single when needed.

So Amanda is able to stand the whole time. Does she sit down at all?
Because I can buy an adaptor for my stroller--a wheel board. She can stand on it, like the the sit and stand. Though I don't know if she will be able to stand for a long time. What if she gets cranky??

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
I am going to hold out until the baby is here, but right now the only stroller I am considering is a sit and stand or the double one. E will be 2.5 when the baby comes and I figure I probably won't be going out by myself in the beginning that much so I can just wait and get one.

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
We have the Chicco Trevi and love it!! Andrew still likes to relax in the seat and if we are out for a long time he will fall asleep in it still. And it is lightweight and folds up as small as my single.
I really love this stroller. I also like how far back the seats go back.

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
I have the Mia Moda Compagno. The only drawback is it's heavy but I've heard most sit and stands are plus I'm so used to my lightweight Peg.
Pics to show how the child sits or stand in the back....

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
Here's that review. It was so comprehensive- and I agree with everything she says about the P&T. Thanks NJMom!!!

When I just had one DC I had a Peg Perego Pliko, which I think hands down is the best single stroller out there, so that's kind of where my comparisons come from.
When DD arrived I got the P&T. The biggest drawback of the P&T is that you can't use it with 2 kids and a car seat. FYI, there is a car seat adapter you can get, but you can only use it in single mode so then your older DC would have to walk. So for quick trips in and out it's a PITA to have to take the baby out and transfer to the stroller. It was kind of annoying so I got the BT Sit and Stand (the regular one, not the one with the 2 seats) for times when I wanted to be able to just run in somewhere quick and not have to take DD out of the car seat. My DS has just turned 2 so he was able to handle the jump seat well. He likes to stand, but he tries to get out so I usually make him sit and buckle him in. The ONLY time I ever use the Sit and Stand is when I'm going somewhere quick, otherwise I always take the P&T. The Sit and Stand doesn't maneuver very well, the steering is not that great, it's hard to make turns in narrow places, and feels heavy to push. It does have a decent sized basket and a console, but I think the benefits of the P&T outweigh those advantages. The P&T is sooooo easy to push, steer, and maneuver through tight spaces! In fact, I think it handles much better than even my Pliko! It rides so smooth and is so easy to push. It fits anywhere you can fit a single stroller. I can squeeze through racks and aisles, fit into dressing rooms, and turn very easily. About the positions...the newborn position with the baby in the sling I'm not so much a fan of. In the beginning my DD didn't mind when she was in that sleepy newborn stage and I think it actually rocked her to sleep, but once she started becoming more alert she didn't really like being in there. I never quite figured out how you were supposed to work the seat belt either. I used to put a sleep positioner in there to keep her snug. At around 3 months I moved her to the second seat on the bottom...she LOVES it! She loves being able to sit down there and look around at everything. She can see plenty out the sides and in front off to the side. She is always very happy down there. On the other hand, she hates being in her car seat so when I put her in the sit and stand I can usually get no more than 5 minutes before she starts to fuss and cry. Sitting up in the bottom seat of the P&T she is able to see so much more...the seat has 2 positions so you can have it somewhat reclined for younger babies. I think around 3 months is a good time to make the switch. The second seat is very easy and fast to attach and remove. I also like that if I'm out with just one or if I know the older one is going to want to walk I can still use the same stroller and just use it as a single without the extra seat. There are guards that go over the wheels to keep fingers out and I've never been worried about my DD getting splashed or muddy. The seat is low, but it's not on the ground.
I find them both easy to fold and similar in weight. Some people have said that it's heavy, but I really don't think it's that bad and I was used to a Pliko, which IMO is pretty lightweight. It's no where near as heavy or as bulky as a side by side jogger or something like a Graco tandem stroller. The P&T and BT also take up about the same amount of trunk space, but I think the P&T might actually take up less, it folds up very compactly. I have a mid sized SUV and I usually keep them both in the trunk so depending on where I'm going I can choose which one to take. Once DD is out of the infant seat I'll probably get rid of the Sit and Stand.
The P&T is short on storage space. I can fit my diaper bag and maybe 1 or 2 smaller shopping bags down there, but my DD's feet haven't reached into the basket yet so my space will probably start shrinking as she gets older. It's also not the easiest to access once you have a baby in the bottom seat. It's a trade off, but I think it's worth it. It also doesn't have a cup holder, but the BOB console will fit if you feel you need one. You're supposed to always put the older child on top, if you have too much weight on the bottom the stroller could tip backwards.
What else...the Sit and Stand stinks for walks through the neighborhood. It always feels like a struggle for me to push and steer and it doesn't handle bumps well. It just doesn't compare to the P&T in that respect. Another reason I got the P&T was so that I wouldn't have to buy a double jogger. My DD is 7 months old now and I've been jogging with it with no problem. I'm 5'7" and I don't ever feel like I'm kicking the back of the stroller.
So basically IMO the Sit and stand is good for it's ability to handle a carseat and for storage space, but the P&T wins in all other respects. Another thing to mention about the P&T, you will get looks and everyone will point and be talking about your stroller (at least in the burbs where I am). People always stop me to tell me how cool it is and I'm sure there are people out there who give me dirty looks too because the think I put the baby in the basket! Often people don't realize there's a baby down there until they hear her making noises...it was very funny when she was in the sling part because then you really couldn't see her and people would be trying to figure out where the crying was coming from! Well, there's my long winded dissertation on the pros and cons of each stroller for you! Whew! If I could only get one I would get the P&T!

Re: Moms with Double strollers??
Bumbleride Indie twin - love it!!! Holds a LOT underneath in the basket (2 vera bradley bags PLUS other stuff). Great suspension so it is great for walks and does well on grass etc. I haven't used it in the mall yet but met several other moms who have and love it.
City Mini double - I really like it a lot but I don't love it. The wheels aren't the best. But overall it is a great stroller. The basket is hard to get to and small. The canopy is the best - great coverage.
Sit and stand deluxe from OSA. Have barely used it. It is like pushing a boat. It is okay but not my favorite ask me again when I remove the rear seat.
