Lets talk recliners......

DH 30th birthday is in 3 weeks and hes always wanted a recliner. I however, think they are HIDEOUS and overpriced for a chair. Can anyone help me find a really reasonable priced, attractive recliner?

Ive attached a pic of the living room, so you can see the style.

$679 at Raymour right now, they list the color as "chocolate" but this looks black so maybe it person it's more brown?

Re: Lets talk recliners......

How about something like this, it's more of an accent chair, but it's a recliner.

We JUST got this one. DH actually picked it out after we went to about 6 different stores & tried out a ton. We got one of the 'higher' grade fabrics and it was still only about $700 with tax & delivery. The 'base price' was like $479 I think. We got the 'suede' because it is supposed to be really easy to clean/stain resistant. Here it is in our room. i love that it doesn't look like a recliner. I highly recommend La-Z-boy, their prices were lower than others i looked at and that's all they do so I figured it would be good quality.

ETA: if you do like it at all I can take a good pic of the chair tonight for you Chat Icon

OMG! is that the rug from pottery barn?

Love the chair, if you get a chance and have a moment Id love a pic.

It is comfy, like he could totally just lounge in it, or is it more of a firm accent chair type recliner?

Yes, I TOTALLY loved it and had to get it! Nothing else I saw even came close so I splurged!

Honestly, it is a bit firm b/c DH wanted it that way, but they had a VERY similar one that was only a bit more $$ that was much cushier (IMO) but DH liked this one better. I would say just take DH to the store, I was really surprised at how nice the chairs were, not like 'grandpa' chairs I was expecting.... don't get me wrong, they still have those ‘traditional’ ones, but they also have some really nice ones that don't scream recliner when you look at them.
