new to this board!
but id just quickly like to introduce myself over here im a new mommy of a 4 month old dd my DH and i just put an offer in on a forclosure and im scared to death! i have no idea what im getting my self into thats for sure! and i hope to be posting a lot over here as this process continues and hopefully become a homeowner sooner then later!
we were told that after the offical offer goes in (which was friday) that it would take anywhere from 2 days to 6 weeks to hear back if the offer was accepted.
anyone have any experience or advice to offer with a forclosure?

I have no experience with forclosures but I wanted to say welcome to the board!
This is by far my favorite board. There are so many helpful people who frequent this board.

Congratulations on your Daughter and Good luck with the house search.
We just bought and closed in August. it was a torturous process but so worth it.
Foreclosures definitely take a while to hear back from.

Welcome to the board!! I too am fairly new and am enjoying it very much.
As for the foreclosure question. Yes the bank can take a while to accept your offer, but once it is accepted the process goes much faster than a traditional home purchase. So in the long run you will be done with the process faster than most....not sure if that helps your nerves at all!
Hopefully you do not need to do too much to the house. Sometimes foreclosures need more work than others, but every once in a while you find one that doesn't. Good Luck with it and hopefully you will post to all of us that it has been accepted.

thank you so much for the warm welcome!!! im very excited but very nervous our max price was low because we knew we would want to do the work ourselves. but i feel like we really got lucky and am just hoping noone finds our "diamond in the ruff" and offers higher! ill be sure to update as soon as we hear back!
