What to do before closing?
After being in contract since the 1st week of September, it looks like we will be closing in the next week or so.
What do I need to do before then? Anyone I need to call? We aren't moving in to the house right away, we will be doing some work there. I am so clueless!!!

Re: What to do before closing?
has your bank cleared you then? if so, just check with them that you have the full list of what you need to bring with you to closing.

Re: What to do before closing?
well first the bank will ask you to do your insurance if you haven't already.
After that you need to wait until you get a firm closing date (yes lots of waiting) but meanwhile you can make a list of the services you need to take over on the house or switch over: Ex. Gas, Electric, Water, Sewer?, Cable, Phone etc. get the numbers in hand and then once you get the date call them up and inform them you are taking over the accounts. I plan on contacting the seller's to inform them I am taking over the accounts on that day and to see if there is anything else i would need to take over that is not on my list just in case.
If you need a moving company - start getting estimates now, if you need to rent moving equipment get estimates as well.
