Night 1 of Operation No Paci - SUCCESS!
I have a sleeper! No paci needed!
We had heard from daycare that he was napping without it and that they werent giving it to him unless he asked for it. But more often than not, he was napping without it. So after 2 years and 1 month of being a paci addict, we decided to try to put him down without one tonight.....cold turkey. Add in the motivating factor that he chewed through 2 and that was scary enough to motivate DH and I into action.
He didnt cry once! He asked for it and we told him that we didnt know where it was and he said "oh, boo (what we call the paci) is lost". It did take him 2 hours to fall asleep, but he didnt cry and eventually drifted off!
Lets hope it continues to be this easy!

yeah congrats!!!! thank Goodness my dd isn't addicted we give it to her for her reflux but she doesnt go balistic without it

Congrats!!! We had an issue when we took it away from DD at 18 months...bedtime was the worst, but after 3 nights, it was no longer an issue. I find if you make it to 3 nights, the worst is definitely over....best of luck!!!

We're almost there too!! At least he's not addicted during the day, only for naps and bedtime!
Good news on our end is that night #2 in big boy bed was a success!! He slept from 8-6 without getting up one time!
Mel, where have our little babies gone??? lol

I felt the same way when we went through this with DD a couple weeks ago. I was expecting it to be way worse. Good luck tonight!

LUCKY! Good for you guys, I am soooo jealous. I have not had that luck, but maybe at 2 they get it, that it's really okay. I might try again b/c of your post.
