for those that give a paci at night
Does it always fall out and wake DC up? I have a love/hate relationship with it b/c it instantaneously quiets DD, but it ALWAYS falls out after she falls asleep and wakes her....ahhh, then she gets used to it and won't fall back asleep until I give it to her.
I really don't like playing paci police all night

That continues for a little while, but eventually they get a hang of it. What you can do during the day is give him the paci and then try and pull it out - supposedly it causes them to suck on it harder.

Had the same problem for many weeks with DS......now that he sleeps through the night, it's not so bad!

Does he sleep through the night with the paci or without?

Re: for those that give a paci at night
I have this battle almost every night. We use the soothies (the only one that DS won't gag on) and it falls out sooooo easily and often. He doesn't need it in the middle of the night but needs it most of the time to go to sleep at the start of the night. Then we have to do pacifier patrol and mostly stick around upstairs till he is good and asleep.

I guess that I have played with it so much with her during the daytime that she knows to keep it in her mouth in her crib.
If it falls out and she wakes from it falling out, she finds it and plugs the hole on her own!

It will get easier as she gets older, because she will put it back in her mouth on her own. My DS is almost 6 months and I would say around 4 1/2 months he started putting in his mouth on his own at night.

Re: for those that give a paci at night
DD did the same thing, but now she can find it and put it back in her mouth. Thank God. I was jumping up 4-5 times a night to put that thing back in her mouth.
