Speaking of comments..this is my FAV
Them: So how are you feeling?
Me: I'm doing well, just really tired.
Them: Oh well get used to it b/c you're going to be tired the rest of your life.
YES, thank you. I get it. I'm never going to sleep ever again. My child will be the devil and I will forever be exhausted.
I get this comment about every 2 mins of the day.

lol i laughed out loud. i get that all the time too. and i also get (since im off of work now), make sure u rest and sleep as much as u can now cause you wont once the baby comes. u try resting and sleeping at 40 weeks while waiting for a baby to show up. people suck!

I get that comment a lot because I am so tired.
I don't mind it because it's pretty much true-at least for the first 4 weeks or so after the baby arrives. I was dragging with DD, but then like magic it gets better. Since I know it gets better, I don't get discouraged.
People just like to scare others...

I get that comment also. I think the best way to deal with it is to tell the offender-no worries, I will definitely get sleep the nights I leave my child with you!

Absolutely! I haven't gotten one yet. I haven't gotten the "you just wait till" either (that on really peeved me).
ETA: I noticed with my first the comments were allways preceded with "Is this your first" and then they would follow up with their know it all advice.
Now WHen I say "No" there is just silence, they don't know what to say =)

Let's all make a pact that we never say this to expectant mothers in the future! I agree, listening to people tell me that my life will soon turn into a hellish nightmare is really grating on my nerves. It's always prefaced with a "It's totally worth it, but..."

Someone who had just had a baby, asked me what I was doing later...etc. I told her we were prob. going to watch a movie.
She actually told me, I would never watch another movie, once the baby came...
I had never heard that, and thought I would share it with you guys!

haha me too! I got it alot with my daughter, especially when she was overdue. Everyone was like "Take this time to relax because you'll never be able to"
Boy, was I happy to rub it all in their faces that my daughter slept 10 hours STRAIGHT her first night home from the hospital!

seriously, that's such BULL. DS was STTN at 8 weeks. does every baby? no. but most babies are able to go 3-4 hours between feedings by 4 weeks of age and that's a significant amount of sleep.
DS sleeps 12 hours a night now, so theoretically i could too

haha I agree. When Genevieve was a baby, our favorite thing to do at night after her bath was to play with her on the couch and watch a movie. I think we watched more movies when she was an infant than we ever have!
