How far are you from your hospital?
Just curious how far everyone is from their hospital.
I'm about a 1/2 hour away from mine and while I'm not worried one bit, one or two people seem to think that a 1/2 hour is like light years away (which it may feel that way when I'm in labor  , but for now, I'm not too concerned).

I'm about a half hour away from my hospital. I don't think that is too far away.
When I had DS, it was not an issue.

I'm probably about 30 mins too...I'm not going to worry about it either. Although the other day we were driving on Ocean Pkwy and dh was like "So, this might not be the best way to go if you're in labor" with all of the bumps!!!

We're about a 20 minute car ride away. But we don't have a car. I pity the taxi that gets our call...
Hopefully my Mom will be with me then with her car. Fingers crossed!

with traffic maybe 35-40 minutes

I work at lij hospital and that is where I am delivering as well so i feel very lucky...I live 10 minutes away

I have 2 to choose from, really want to try to make it to the better hospital 1 hour away (with traffic)
but the closer one is only 15 minutes away (with traffic)
I'll probably pre-register for the 1 hour away hospital. But if I'm ready and need to get somewhere quick, it will be the 15 min away one.

45 min plus.... In traffic it can take an hour. Its ridiculous, I know but we really feel in our hearts that its worth it!

I live in Nassau (near the Queens border) and the plan is to deliver at Columbia Presbyterian in Manhattan. This is where my docs are affiliated. I work in the city and see them for appointments at lunch time on the East Side.
I hope that I make it in time, but my OB does not think I will have a problem getting to the Hospital because this is my first.  I just hope I don't go into labor during rush hour or I may be having this child in the mid-town tunnel or on the Queensboro Bridge!!!

30minutes without traffic maybe 45 during rush hour. My biggest fear because of the drive is showing up in false labor because then I'd have to go all the way back home again!
