How to keep home smelling fresh?
We live in an apartment. Sometimes we get food smells from the other apartments, but nothing bad.
I just feel like my home doesn't smell "fresh." Not BAD, but there's really no scent to it at all. I spray Febreze on EVERYTHING a couple times a week, use tart warmers, candles, reed diffusers, Plug-Ins (Glade, Febreze and Wallflowers, depending on what I have). I vaccum about 1x per week, sometimes more. I mop the kitchen 1-2x per week. I clean the kitty litter daily, sometimes more. Counters are always sprayed down daily.
Whenever I walk into my SIL's house or my friend's apartment, it always smells so nice, sometimes they just have a candle going. Yet I never get that....
Oy. What can I do?

Re: How to keep home smelling fresh?
I have an oil based linen spray I got from Bath and Body Works years ago. I use it in/around the garbage can and spray it once on the carpet in each room right before I'm expecting company.
I also have the windows open as much as possible. Other than that, it smells like it smells.

Re: How to keep home smelling fresh?
I have my windows open alot. I like the fresh air.
I also use Febreeze, plug ins, candles etc. I vacuum everyday, the litter box gets cleaned out EVERYTIME he uses it, I mop every other day, I use linen sprays...not sure what else I can use.
I also feel like a person can become immune to the smell of their place because people will visit & say the place smells amazing, yet I'm not picking up on it.

Fresh air is always key.
Bounce dryer sheets in random places.
Febreze candles,I swear by them.

I keep the windows open. Fresh air helps a lot. I just crack a window every time the air gets stuffy.

I love the oil burners. This time of the year, I will also simmer some water and cloves on the stove with orange slices and cinnamon sticks. Oh my,,,
I am another one who agrees with opening the windows and getting fresh air. Our bathroom window is always open.

Re: How to keep home smelling fresh?
mabe youre just used to the 'smell' of your house. i know all my friends houses have a specific scent. you know, your clothes smell like it when you come home or as soon as you walk in you know the smell. i dont think my house has a scent but my friends told me it does.
so maybe it really does smell fresh, you just dont realize it!
