Back of head rubbing on crib sheet...

Riley has a bit of a bald spot on the back of her head...and with her turning her head so much, her skin is irrirated, red and dry. Did this happen to anyone else's DC?

The reason I'm asking is, she has Epidermolysis Bullosa which is a skin disorder where the slightest touch can bring on a blister or a cut. I'm wondering if this is her EB or just a normal newborn thing...in the meantime I'm gonna run out and get some softer sheets.

It never happened to DS....

Maybe a jersey sheet would be softer for her?Chat Icon

Chat Icon I know DS's hair rubbed off on the back of his head from the sheet.

Since she has the skin disorder, I am not sure, but I would gather this is a normal newborn thing.

My DD is 4 months and still has a bald spot on the back of her head from rubbing her head against the sheets. It isn't red or irritated though.

both my DD's had a bald spot on the back of their head - it does go away in time and the hair does grow back when they started sitting more. The ped said it is pretty normal.

I feel so bad how irritated it looks...Chat Icon I went and bought some jersey sheets and gonna put them on her bed tonight. I hope it helps somewhat...but it's already irritated. I wish there was more I could do!Chat Icon
