Im kinda scared of pregnancy....

I dont know who else to talk to about htis...

The closer it gets to the date that I can find out if I am preggo...

The worse I get. Nightmares last night that I didn't want to go into labor....

And I was so so excited to begin to try!

ANd honestly, because of past history, I am scared to death!!!!!!!! The water breaking, the labor pains, everything...

I don't know whats gotten into me...anyone else feel this way?

I've never had dreams like that but I think it's totally normal. It's a huge change and we have all heard stories of how painful labor is. I think it's only natural to get worked up about it.

I think the worst part is what comes next: the waking up, crying, no sleeping, total lifestyle change.

If you are ready for THAT, you will be OK. There are towels for broken water, epidurals for labor pain.

I must say I was soooo there with my first DS. I spent nine months scared to death of the pain, the water breaking, pooping on the table......all of it but mostly the pain. I have to say when labor came along it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Plus you tend to forget the pain once you have the baby. I can honestly say the moment you hear there cry is breath taking. Your life is never the same. As for the crying and the nights up, yes there are days you are ready to loose it and there will be days that you can do nothing but cry. But then your child rolls over, or smiles at you, and it makes it all worth while. What your feeling is totally normal!

I am totally scared to give birth, of having complications, etc... I thinking being scared out of your mind it what makes the end result so amazing. Don't get hung up on all the little things. I look at it like this when I do get close to labor I am going to be so scared, and not want to do it, but you kinda have no choice, and it happens, and you do it, and get it done, and after I think you are like wow it was terrifying hurt like hell but was so worth it.

Girl I'm right there with you. I cannot wait to be pregnant and feel the lil one kick, and be healthier than I've ever been in my life and watch my belly grow...and I also (oddly) can't wait for the late nights and watching DH with our baby and the whole motherhood experience. But the thought of the "unknown" about labor and delivery SCARES THE BEJESUS outta me. Will my water break while I'm on the train? Or at work?! Will I get to the hospital in time for an epidural? Will I have to have a c-section (which the thought of freaks me out!), "tearing" AHH!...But I know we truly have no control over those things, we need to trust our doctors and just think of the prize at the end!

Now....if only I could make a baby!

I'm totally scared! I want to be pg so bad! but I am scared of how I will feel...that the baby will be ok (suffered m/c this ummer) and I am TERRIFIED of labor! I am a huge wuss!!! I have no idea how I will get through it...but women are made to have babies...we are strong and we can do it it's the biggest mirical in the world!

I have to say, I wasn't scared of labor and delivery. Almost every woman goes threw it and survives. Going into it for the first time, I knew I would be ok.

Epidurals are an amazing thing.

I still think the hardest part of having a baby is making that adjustment after the baby is born.

thank you ladies. I've been having terrible nightmares. Last night scared me. I wonder if that is what put mein the "labor scare" mood though. I know my mum had three of us without any pain medications, and shes just fine...

I just, i dont know. I am so terrified all of a sudden of the pushing and squeezing- and have already been told that if the child is over 6lbs i will need csection because of my issues. I Dont know...

But, nine months of carryign the baby- I am sure i will want the thing out by then under any means

I'm sort of afraid, but there are too many moms in my life to be too scared. (If they can take the pain, I'm sure I can). I'm more afraid of messing up my child. I work in a HS, and I see what happens when parenting goes awry. But all these fears are normal. After all, this is only the biggest, most life-altering experience any of us will ever have. A little fear is probably fine.

I totally understand. I was terrified the first time around, especially when we starting trying and got pregnant much quicker than I ever thought we would. All of sudden I was OMG what have I done?

Pregnancy is the most amazing experience I've ever had. I absolutely loved it and was so sad when it came to an end. Even though I had this beautiful DC now with me, there was something just totally wonderful about DC being in my belly. It was like it was just the two of us sharing these special moments.

I was scared of the labor and delivery. DH would tell you I turned green a few times in lamaze class when they talked about what was going to happen. I wound up having a c/s and it went very well and the recovery was minimal.

I assure you - it's all worth it in the end. And as DH's grandmother kept telling me before I delivered - everyone in this world has been born...how bad could it be?

I am terrible when it comes to pain .. and especially nervous when it comes to experiencing the unknown.

I know with the first baby I will be a nervous wreck, especially as the days come closer to my due date...

But honestly I just can't allow myself to worry about that right now. Right now, my priority is to get pregnant in the first place! THEN I will drive myself nuts with labor fears

I would suggest you read some birth stories to ease your anxiety. I did that and it definitely calmed me down. After reading them, I said you know, I can do it too.

You know when you eat WAY too much or something too greasy and you just have to hang out in the bathroom for an hour and it's just miserable? Well it sounds to me like it's just like that, only you get a baby at the end. That's not so bad, right?

I'd definitely recommend exercising throughout pregnancy though. It's supposed to make the birth go easier.
