is it tacky to put where you are registered on the actual invitation?

Nope. I had it on mine. I personally like that better than that little card they insert saying where a person is registered

I once received an invite with no information about registry..not on the invite nor any inserts and it drove me crazy. I think most guest agree...we want to buy something you want so definitely include it in some way, shape or form. Chat Icon

I know they say it's tacky, but really the POINT of a baby shower or any shower is to buy gifts, so no it's not tacky and in fact helpful. I HATE getting an invitation without gift registry info. Then you have to call them or ask somebody else, and to me, that is very frustrating and a bit time consuming when they could have just put it on the invite.

It was worded like this on my invite and I think it sounded nice...

"Wishes for our little girl are registered at..."

This way, it sounds more like a suggestion than a request.
