Noisy Neighbors
I need some advice... We live in a villa type complex with balconys attached and the people behind us moved in about a yr ago. I believe 3 males live there between 20 and 30 and their mom who is probably in her 60's. Anyhow, starting at about 11 they go out on their balcony and sit and BS about nonsense until 2 am. Ive let it go on for SO long. We've washed their voices out with the AC for the most part but now its getting cold and I seriously cant take this. I can only imagine the complaints that have been called in bc we live relatively close to them but not as close as others. From what I heard the complex tells people to just call the cops. I feel like I am taking up the cops time. What am I going to call them every nite to shut these people up? Seriously, it sounds like Ru Paul is on their balcony. The loud obnoxious whiny BS. It only gets louder and louder and slamming screen doors etc... What am I to do? any advice?

Can you speak to them nicely in the daytime? Say you have kids as I am sure others in the complex do and you all need to get up early for work?

Re: Noisy Neighbors
Even if I don't feel they deserve it, I always give the respect up front of talking to the people involved. Do unto others and all that.
I would be nice about it, tell them the reasons why you are having trouble with the situation, and ask what compromise they feel you can come to regarding it. Make sure you set an expectation because the might just test the boundaries again if you don't, to see how much you will put up with.
If it happens again, I would again talk to them, but this time tell them what action will be taken, should your original agreement not be honored. Whatever that is, reporting them to the building management, calling the police, etc.
I think a lot of people like to remain anonymous in these situations but I feel that if you want any kind of results, you have to get your hands dirty too. Good luck with the situation, and if the building management won't help, you can call the precinct instead of 911 so they know it's a non-emergency. It will take longer but if they're out there for 3 hours, that may be long enough for them to make it there.
