How many poop diapers is normal?

DS is 5 weeks old and he usually only has about 2 (maybe 3) poop diapers per day. I remember when he was only 2 weeks old he was pooping up to 8 times a day. The consistency is normal but he just doesnt poop often. How many dirty diapers should he be having a day?

My DD is 7 weeks old and poops like every other day...but she has about 7-8 wet diapers


I think if you BF/pump, its not a high number, otherwise I think 3-5 is normal....

You could always check w/your PED if you're worried

I have the Poop-Master 2008 - when we were counting in weeks, he'd have about 2 per day.
When we were counting in months - depending on how much he ate - we could change about 3-5/day
At 1 1/2 years now its about 2-3 usually - maybe up to 5 though.

My ped said it didn't really matter how many poopy diapers DD had as long as she was having plenty of wet diapers throughout the day.

With that being said she generally had between 3-5 at that age.
