Anyone get new windows recently?
If so, can you give me an idea on what the cost was per window (installed). I know it depends on the size of the window and quality etc., I'm just trying to get an idea of the price range. My husband has decided we need new windows now, while I think we can wait a while. Sigh.

Re: Anyone get new windows recently?
We got estimates ranging between 370 and $499 per window, Installed Double pane, energy star rated, double hung vinyl replacement windows.
Unified has a triple pane window for 399 (i think) but I have heard not so great things about their installation and warranty. We considered triple pane windows from other companies (which were more $) however, determined that triple pane is not really necessary for our climate region.
ETA: windows are expensive and i think the prices have gotten higher in the past year or so since the gov't is giving tax incentives to those who purchase energy star windows. The companies use that to make it seem like you are getting a deal.

31 windows cost us around 10,000, all varying sizes, but all vinyl replacements (alside excalibur).

Re: Anyone get new windows recently?
I just got them. 10 double hungs, 2 crank outs in bathrooms (one shaded), 2 small sliders, and one huge bay with two attached double hungs.
Around 10k with installation.
We changed the sizes of all the windows, except the bay. I have a high ranch which usually have small windows. I didnt realize what a mess it would make to the entire house. In almost every room there is a window. there is now sheetrock because the walls around the window were destroyed.
That pice didnt include window sills or trim either. We now have to get that done before it gets cold!
