Where did you have it made and how much did it cost? I got a quote for $500 which I thought was   but that could just be what the going rate is as far as I know. . .

I got a quote from Rosie's Tailoring in Centereach and it was $500.

we didnt but my grandmother took a piece of my mothers and made it a hanky for me for my wedding that with one or two stitches turned into a bonnet for the christening,

I had a wonderful lady in Coram do DS's.  I think it was under $200, but her prices may have gone up since 2007.  She also altered my wedding gown and other gowns I have had.  Please FM me if you are interested.
  ETA:  I also asked her to make it pretty plain for DS.  If we ever have a girl, she is planning on adding more of the beadwork from my gown to the existing gown.

i had my DSs made in 2007 and it cost me about $300
  i went back to the same woman who is making DSs gown "girly" and its costing me another $150.

eh mine was between 750-850..ridiculous, but worth it..I had mine done in a Couture dress shop in merrick
