IF and I say IFFFFFF she was having a TIA(mini stroke) with that bottle of liquor in the car COULD HAVE been mistaken for a water bottle.
I say this why because when Keith had his TIA he had been acting fine BUT when i was telling him to do something he was messing up his left from his right. I thought he was just playing with me. he was laughing. this is common in a stroke victim a sign i wish i would have known that then.
SO if she was, she could have easily mistaken the bottle of vodka for a water bottle. drank it as if it was a water bottle. think about it when you are drinking a water bottle you drink a lot more at one time then you would a bottle of soda , alcove drinks. ect.
again , just a possibility and MAYBE what happened

I understand what you are saying BUT that is some serious reaching!
Just as the husband is reaching, saying it was everything but what it is. She was DRUNK and HIGH! She KILLED 8 people. So, I think saying anything but the obvious is reaching BIGTIME!

how is it reaching? have you ever known someone to have a stroke? have you ever been around someone WHILE they are? it is a VERY big possibility that is what happen.

BUT it is VERY POSSIBLE that is what happened.

Ok, now I have been known to drink a bit. And I can say, I have never mistaken a bottle of water for VODKA. You would think you would know the difference, and as far as the weed. The levels in her body were proven to be that she would have had to smoke within a hlf hour of the crash. So I doubt that she thought a vodka bottle was water. Theyare just trying to make her look LESS crappy. She got away easy as far as Im concerned with dying in this crash. Again JMHO!!!

I will be the first one to say that what this woman did was absolutely horrible and inexcuseable.

I just think it is strange that the husband can get up there and say "she never drank - two drinks a year" but he never saw her. They worked totally opposite schedules and never crossed paths 5 days a week. Who knows what she is doing. He should be careful when he makes blanket statements like that.

The type of stroke they are trying to say she had was a mini stroke and there is not always any permanent damage from it. I just looked it up online and it said symptoms can last from 1 hour to 24 hours and one of the main symptoms is being disoriented, having speech problems.
Honestly, out of all the whacky explanations that the attorney has tried to give (tooth absess, diabetes, bump in leg) this one seems to have the most potential. NOT THAT I AM SAYING IT IS TRUE!!!!! I'm just saying that it could potentially explain some of it.

this is one of the firs things they tested for.
I honestly think the authorities were just as surprised as the rest of us were when the results of what REALLY went down came out.
NO ONE wants to believe what this lady appears to have done. it's unfathomable.
as far as the husband trying to "clear her name"...well, I haven't heard her name or his name in a while.
he could have exhumed the body and did all his detective work QUIETLY. and then, when he had his results, maybe call a press conference then.
unfortunately it seems like DB feels that the hubbub died down too quickly for his tastes, and he decided to come out on tv AGAIN and say the same crap he said they suspected AGAIN.
 and  for those people.
stroke was RULED OUT. as was a myriad of the other "natural" reasons this could have happened.

Look this is a POSSIBILITY that no one wants to accept because there was so many involved and want it easy to find blame. NO ONE WILL EVER truly know how , what happened. and YES science can make mistakes. it does happen. it is called human error. BUT this is JMHO. thank you for wording it better then i can. As for why the bottle was in the car, they went camping and they could have brought it to have while camping. and just never got to take it out of the car.

But the question remains even if you are on to something...
why was there a bottle of vodka in the car of someone who supposedly doesn't drink, and ALSO has children in the car, and is coming back from a family trip?
Unless she wasn't a drinker but thought the vodka would help with her supposed "pain" and didn't realize how much she had? Could that be a possibility?

Right but if SHE wasn't a drinker, why is the vodka in HER car? Odds are someone else would have taken the bottle if she truly wasn't a drinker, no?
If I don't drink liquor, i would be the last one taking it in my car. For what reason would I? Other than if my DH wanted it, maybe, so then that leads back to the DH.

Well you can drum all these possibilities all you want. The proof is black and white. Stroke ruled out. Drunk and HIGH proven. She had no teeth issues. She is a POS. But I will leave it like that. We can go on all day.

Let's get real here.....the reason we are grasping for excuses is because no one can ever wrap their heads around the fact that a woman would drink and smoke like that with kids in a car on a Sunday morning. It just does not make sense and won't ever make sense.
I personally believe she snapped for whatever reason. I can't understand how you drive for almost 2 miles in broad daylight with cars coming at you and kids no doubt screaming if you are not trying to kill yourself. I don't care how drunk you have to be...there had to be a ton of cars that went past her over those 2 miles and she had plenty of time to pull over. Plus people who saw her driving the wrong way said she drove pretty straight. This was not a woman who passed out at the wheel or was driving in the middle of night in the dark with few cars on the road.
I know most of us cannot understand how a mother could do that with kids in the car, but it's always in the news of mothers snapping and doing horrible, horrible things to their kids. Whether she was depressed or angry or whatever, something made her chug that vodka bottle and smoke that pot. I think she was on a mission to kill herself and didn't care who was in that car. That is the only sense I can make of the whole horrible tragedy.

That is the only sense I can make of the whole horrible tragedy.
I have to say I agree. People do snap and do awful things.

How do you know they don't cross paths 5 days a week?
People who knew her have all said there's no way she'd purposely drink and drive with those kids in the car. She appeared perfectly fine to everyone who saw her that day, up until just a short bit before the final call was made to her brother. Something does not add up. There's a piece of the puzzle missing and Danny is trying to find it. I don't blame him, and my heart aches for him.
She didn't have a drinking problem that she hid from him or anyone else. The ME report PROVED this. Her body showed NO signs of alcohol use.
Yes, they tested for a stroke, but even the docs agree that a TIA would NOT show up on these reports. It is TRANSIENT.
Several people have said he showed no emotion. No one knows how hard it is for him to look at a picture of his 2 year old daughter. No one knows what he goes through on his personal time. Just because he puts a front on for the cameras doesn't mean he has no emotion. People handle things differently. He's made it his mission to clear her name. I think I'd do the same thing if I were in his shoes. Unfortunately, his lawyer just makes things appear worse for him because he's just trying to become the next famous lawyer.

She appeared perfectly fine to everyone who saw her that day, up until just a short bit before the final call was made to her brother. Something does not add up. There's a piece of the puzzle missing and Danny is trying to find it. I don't blame him, and my heart aches for him.
She didn't have a drinking problem that she hid from him or anyone else. The ME report PROVED this. Her body showed NO signs of alcohol use.
Yes, they tested for a stroke, but even the docs agree that a TIA would NOT show up on these reports. It is TRANSIENT.
Several people have said he showed no emotion. No one knows how hard it is for him to look at a picture of his 2 year old daughter. No one knows what he goes through on his personal time. Just because he puts a front on for the cameras doesn't mean he has no emotion. People handle things differently. He's made it his mission to clear her name. I think I'd do the same thing if I were in his shoes. Unfortunately, his lawyer just makes things appear worse for him because he's just trying to become the next famous lawyer.
He was the one that said they didn't cross paths during the week - he said a nanny came and watched the kids while he went to work and she was coming home. He has said it numerous times.

Again, the autoposy showed NO sign of stroke or aneurysim.
So I don't see how the excuse is even valid- that she had a stroke and chugged vodka thinking it was water and smoked the roach that was sitting in the ash tray of the mini van thinking it was a Marlboro light.
They said she did not have a stroke

Well you can drum all these possibilities all you want. The proof is black and white. Stroke ruled out. Drunk and HIGH proven. She had no teeth issues. She is a POS. But I will leave it like that. We can go on all day.
And your opinion (and that of most people out there) is what the husband is trying to change. You will go forward and believe that this woman was a drunk, high, POS who had no regard for her children, neices or anyone on the road that day.
This very well could be the case. But there is a possibility that it is not. I would think as the husband, even though I could not bring back any of the 8 people who died, even though I could not change the events that happened, I would want to set the record straight and find some proof to show the world that my wife was not a monster. And as far fetched as the potential explanations might sound to us, maybe one of them is true.
Maybe she had this specific type of stroke that doesn't show up on an autopsy. The kind that makes you disoriented and have problems speaking (what her brother heard on the phone with her). The kind that has you so confused that you chug a bottle of vodka.
Who knows. But the husband is trying desperately to clear the name of the wife he knew.

I realize you may know these people, and I am sorry for what they are experiencing.
but even if she DID have a TIA, it still begs the questions...WHY did she have alcohol and pot in her system? WHY was a full bottle of vodka at her arms reach in the car? what did she have a joint/roach/blunt whatever...available to smoke AT ALL?
she couldn't be this "clean" person that everyone claims her to be and magically have these things in her possession on the same day she randomly has a stroke.
she mistook water for vodka? a joint for a cigarette? all while DRIVING her children and her nieces home.
the biggest question of ALL here is...whatever CAUSED her to become disoriented....why didn't she STOP driving once she realized she was unwell? that honestly, is what REALLY caused this tragedy. it wasn't the drinking. it wasn't the smoking. it wasn't a stroke or any other illness.
it was her failure to stay put once she realized things were not right. and she DID realize this. and she drove off anyway. that is what no amount of detective work can never absolve her of.

I don't drink, but you can absolutely find me driving with wine, beer or hard liquor in my car. Not all the time, but if I am going to or coming from someone's house, a party, or a get together, I might have any of these items in my car. Because I am bringing it to a location for other people or taking it home for DH.

in the front seat? an open bottle? with a rolled joint.
I carry wine too, so it does't clang clang clang. but I am not the one driving.
if you are sitting in your car driving and mistake a bottle of vodka for a bottle of water...odds are it's in your line of vision, or within the reach of you hand. not smart no matter how you slice it.

They originally said they carried that same bottle of vodka back and forth with them every weekend in the car because the husband liked to have a drink at night when they were at the camp site.
As the pp stated, I dont see anything too wrong with that. We go on famlily vacations all the time and we have leftover beers in our car that we travel home with. I am sure a lot of people do that, I just dont think they break em out while they are driving?
