How long is your garden hose? And how do you store it?

We just bought a house and i am clueless, lol.
Our house lot is 50x100. Is a 100ft hose too long? The hookup is closer to the front of the house. I'd hate to buy a hose that was too short, but also do not want to deal with one that is too long. what do you think?

Edited to add question. How do you store your hose? I have been reading reviews on those hose hideaways and many of them seem to be poor quality and break fairly easily. Perhaps i should just get a hose reel? The thing is....where our hose is located is visible from the front of the house, so i want something that will not be an eye sore.

Re: How long is your garden hose?

In my experience, it's better to buy one that's longer and house it in a hose house or something. I first bought a 50ft thinking that's all I would need, but now I have 2 100ft hoses, one on either side of my house. Just makes watering and washing things easier to have the extra length. And our lost isn't much bigger than yours.

thanks, that is true now that you point it out. we are planning on washing our siding and i think the 100 foot hose will be necessary. we only have 1 hookup on one side of our house.

I have 75 foot hoses - we have 2 spouts. I use the reel station with the wheels on it (Suncast?) for them.

I have 100 foot and 50 foot. Our plot is 100x100 but I find that sometimes I need to connect them to each other to create one 150 footer. Consider you'll have to go around shrubs, fences, etc.

We have a hose reel box so you don't see the hose but I haven't even set it up yet! We planted a bunch of young flowers in one area so I left the sprinkler set up there.

Also keep in mind that a single 100' hose is big and heavy, and not all hose reels can handle that much hose. If you won't need that much length all the time, you can always connect two 50' hoses. I've got a few 100' hoses and some 50' hoses. I use a reel stand to store them. They aren't hideaways, but I don't care if people see the hoses.

I don't know the length of ours but we have 2. We keep one in the hose reel but it broke after a year(we still use it) and the other we keep loose. We really only need to connect it when we have to add water to the pool. We do have a connection in the front and back of the house though.

I think I would get a 50 and 100 and keep the 50 on the reel.

I think we have 100ft. I recently bought a copper bowl to keep it neat on the side of the house:

We have 100' adn we keep it in a auto winding teak box we got from Frontgate. It looks like they don't sell it anymore - but it is awesome it rolls it up automatically and looks nice.

I'm not sure how long ours are - they were left by the previous homeowner.
We keep one in pile in the back and one on a reel in the side/front of the house (the spout is in the front) i don't think it looks bad at all.
