Sayville-(just love the town and the beautiful homes. Babylon-(near the water) & the area where the old Victorian homes are. Seaford-Just like-not too far out east and close to alot.

Sayville...grew up there and every time i visit my family i miss it and wish we could afford to be there! I love where we are now, West Babylon, and the surrounding Babylon area...the village is awesome! It has a similar feel to Sayville.

Re: If you could live in ANY LI town.....
Rockville Centre: I love the huge old Colonial houses, great downtown, great schools, love the proximity to the city and the LIRR
another dream would be any town on the water --point lookout or long beach in Nassau or something on the north shore in suffolk (like Centerport or Fort Salonga) on the Sound with tons of property.

Re: If you could live in ANY LI town.....
kings park, hands down. I grew up there, and its my favorite place on earth. Its a SMALL town, where everyone knows everyone, and everyone knows EVERYONES business. Its incredibly gossipy, but I love the closeness of the community. I love hthat you can walk into the bakery or a restaurant and know half the people in it. As a teen there was NOTHING to do there, but as an adult Im dying to move back (we live in Smithtown now). I love the access to beaches, the river, but its mostly just the people.
When I grew up there the psych center was still up and running, so it added a layer of "interestingness" but still, never spooked me bc you were just so used to it.

Port Jeff, Northport, or Jamestown.
I loved growing up in Centerport, but I would never want my children to go to the same schools that I went to.

Any of the east end towns like Watermill, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, North Haven...with a small house on the water with lots of land around me! Let's hope that MegaMillions ticket i bought is a winning one!
Oh forgot to say "why"..i drive thru these areas for work all the time and it makes me feel like i am NOT in NY...haha..farmland...lost of trees...beautiful scenery.

Re: If you could live in ANY LI town.....
I live in Sayville and I can honestly say that there is no other town on Long Island where I would rather be. I love that I can walk down to Main Street and be greeted by neighbors and familiar shop owners. I love the Family Nights that they have and the free events by the Chamber of Commerce. I love SummerFest, Margaritaville, Seafood Fest, Bradstock .. I love that we get to have a BBQ contest this autumn. I love that there is a little marina beach within walking distance - and that if we get sick of the bay we can hop on a ferry and hit up the ocean beaches. I love that we have a vineyard. I love the variety of restaurants. I love that we finally have a great big new library! I love that most of the town has pride and that their well tended homes and lawn reflect that pride. I love that school district is small enough that my boys will not get lost and that the teachers and administrators know them by name even when they aren't in their class. I love that the community really is small at heart and the warm feeling you get from being a part of that community.

Re: If you could live in ANY LI town.....
Rockville Centre...though there are many other towns that are probably even nicer, it's close to my parents and my kids and I have friends there. Love the old houses, the way most areas are kept nicely, the village feel, the schools.
