BF Moms -- Medela Pumps in particular
We received the Medela Pump in Style breast pump this weekend and I am in love!!!!
DH is concerned about bottles. We registered and received the Playtex Vent Aire bottles. I can not pump directly into the bottle because they do not fit. I didn't think it was such a big deal but he researched and found these adapter looking things.
The adapters are made for the Drop In bottles. We got the Vent Aire wide nursers and DH is convinced that they are the same width. These are them.

Did any of you use them? Or use the Medela pump without actually using Medela bottles?
Is it really that much of a big deal to either pump in bags or to transfer the milk at the end of the day once I am home?

you can pump into the medela plastic bottles (they come with the pump, and then sell extras), or you can pump into the bags. either way it's no big deal to just transfer the milk to bottles later.
i wouldn't buy too many of the same bottle brand because it's kind of a trial and error thing. every baby is different, so it can take a little while to find the bottle that best suits your baby...

I used to pump in the medela bottle then transfered the bottles to fridge directly or transfer to bags for freezing.
When I was ready to feed, I transfer either bottle or bags to the Playtex Drop ins since they worked best for DS.

It is extremely easy to pump into the bags or the medela bottles that come with the pump and then transfer the milk into different bottles. I agree with pp and would not get a ton of one type of bottle or nipple until you know your DC likes that particular style. I would get a variety of bottles and nipples for your DC to try before going and getting more.

I did the same thing. I pumped right into the Medela freezer bags that attach directly onto the PIS and when it was time to feed I poured the BM right into the Dr. Brown's bottles that I used.

I use the Medela pump and pump into the storage bags. I do this because I find it easier to freeze using the bags.

Re: BF Moms -- Medela Pumps in particular
I am using a friend's Medela pump and bought two cheapo gerber 4oz bottles that attach right on to the pumps...then I transfer. It's a lot easier than attaching the bags IMO.
We use Playtex Drop-Ins for feeding.

I used the adapter rings to pump directly into the drop-ins. I have no idea if they are the same size as the vent-aire, but it looks like it could be. I also pumped into the Medela bottles and Medela freezer bags.

Re: BF Moms -- Medela Pumps in particular
FYI: I learned (totally by accident) that the Dr. Brown's regular neck bottles screw right onto the PIS breastshields--I ditched the Medela bottles and started pumping directly into the Dr. Brown's since we used them for feeding, anyway!
