For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
If you had pregnancy related carpal tunnel problems, how long did it take to go away after you delivered? I had problems with numbness in three of my fingers for most of the pregnancy. I am now 2 weeks past delivery, and I still have it. I thought it would go away immediately. Now I am wondering if it even was pregnancy related carpal tunnel. Just wondering if it took anyone else longer to get rid of.

Re: For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
With DD my carpal tunnel got REALLY bad in the 3rd trimester.
As soon as my water broke, it went away. Not a lie.

Re: For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
I had it. But then I got really sick the week before my water broke. I had a bad virus for 2 days and lost three pounds in 3 days and my carpal tunnel went away then.

It took about 4 months. I had my thumb in an immobilizer and it helped.

I had it with my first but it went away within 2 weeks...my friend's did not go away and she ended up having surgery. If it continues definitely talk to your doctor

Re: For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
After a month or so. I don't remember exactly but it wasn't right away. You may also feel increased pain because of holding the baby. Your hands / wrists aren't used to these motions.

Re: For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
Got it real bad during my last trimester...I waited 2 months after birth and it still didn't go away..so I had to get a shot in my wrist..it went away after the shot for a few months but still pain there, even today..usually when I wake up..try a night brace hopefully that will help

Re: For those that had pregnancy related carpal tunnel pain/numbness
About a month for me, it actually got worse for a little while after delivery. I remember the first few weeks being afraid to pick him up because my wrists hurt so much I was afraid I'd drop him

A few weeks -- I honestly don't really remember. But I saw a chiropractor for it and that helped a lot.
