The most horrifying thing happened to me last night
We had my BIL and SIL over for dinner. After we ate we sat out on the porch with the baby monitors. Everything went great and I checked on the boys a number of times throughout the night. Well after everyone left I went in to check on them again. I peeked in a Declan and saw him kick his leg out so I didn't even go in his room.
Then I went to Ronan's room and stood over his crib looking at him. I couldn't see his back moving so I put my hand on his back...couldn't feel anything. I touched his foot-nothing. Then I touched his hand still nothing. I was so panicked at this point going through my CPR steps and ready to rip him out of his crib. Then I put my hand on his lips and kind of rubbed and he finally turned over and made a noise. The relief I felt was so immediate and strong.
It is so hard to describe the feelings i had. I was anguished and felt this huge sense of dread..I was so scared. I went back out on the porch once I was sure he was OK(and checked on him about every 10 minutes last night) and just sobbed to my husband. I was messed up about it all night just imagining....Ugh I just needed to get that out there

Oh i know EXACTLY how you feel.  It's horrible isn't it?
When Jacen finally started moving around his crib while sleeping, once i found him pressed up against his bumper. So i went to check on him because that just freaked me out. Well i couldn't feel him breathing. I shook him slightly and nothing!!!! I was about to start screaming at the top of my lungs, but i shook him a little harder and he moved.  So scary! Hence i went out and bought the breathable bumpers as quick as i could. 
I know how terrifying that feeling is. It's the worst!!!!!

When you say "nothing" do you mean as in not breathing or as in no response & he didn't wake up?
If it's a not breathing thing, I'd call the pediatrician. You may be dealing with a sleep apnea, which you'd want to get checked out. I know my cousin's sons were on monitors for a while.

No he was breathing but I just couldn't feel it. He is a very quiet sleeper. Weird but I usually put my finger under his nose to feel the warmth but I didn't do that. He happens to be going to the DR today so I will mention what happened even though I think it was just me. Maybe they can check his sat level or something

Very scary. My DD breathes so lightly it's hard to tell sometimes. Glad he was ok.

that has happened to me 2-3 times and OMG that fear. Thank God it was nothing, but it is such a scary feeling , it is hard to forget/shake it. It is like you see the fragility of life and wish you hadn't.

I had that happen once with DS, must have just been in a REALLY deep sleep! Its the most HORRIFIC sense of panic and this pit in your stomach. It was awful! Glad he was just sleeping really soundly!

OMG so scarey... I have done this more than once. DS breathing is so light when he sleeps it can be hard to detect, I go into panic mode so quick, I have woken my little angel up more than once just to be sure....
Glad everything is okay.
