It's so easy to get down

A girl in my office is 3 months pregnant. She didn't plan it. She didn't even know for several weeks. I am really happy for her, it's her 2nd baby. We both have 2 year olds.

Then there are the 3 friends of ours who are all having a baby in the fall/winter as well.

I am not sure if any of those babies were planned at all. (I know 3 of them were not)

I've been taking vitamins, taking my temps and paying attention to every little detail about my body. I feel more lost now than before I paid it much mind. I started OPKs this cycle...at this point, I just want to know I've ovulated. And for now, if that's the only BFP I get, then maybe all this effort will be for something.

It just gets hard to take. I have 2 kids and I'm very grateful for them, but it still stings when it isn't happening and you are trying so hard.

Whiny moment over.

I'm with you! We need to destress and relax! Maybe that will help...if your friends' pregnancies were unplanned (and I know a few too), then maybe that's the trick..not thinking about it (I know, that;s virtually impossible)!!

Re: It's so easy to get down

Unlike your 2 DCs, a lot of women on this board did not have a planned pregnancy. I think it happens more than we think.

Try not to let it bother you. It will come in time!

I hear you.. so many people i know are pregnant or just had babies... many unplanned and a few unwanted. Chat Icon It just doesn't seem fair at all. I truly hope you didn't mean to say that its not fair for those of whom had unplanned pregnancies to have children?

I, myself, didn't plan for my DS, as my husband and I were waiting for the following year, once I graduated with my BS, but that doesn't mean that I didn't deserve to have him, and wasn't over the moon to be having a baby. I'm probably being over sensitive, because I've heard this comment quite a bit recently, but I would hope people wouldn't assume that just because a baby is unplanned that they aren't just as happy to be having a baby as someone who was trying..

No, it is not fair that they are pregnant, and I am not. That I am planning for a baby, and don't have one, yet they just pregnant, even though they didn't want to have a baby.

And I am not assuming - I have had people tell me, "I don't want this baby." Of course, I'm sure once the baby is born, it will be ok, but I know that right now things aren't so good.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I can't even find the words to say just how selfish that truly is.

Just because I didn't plan to get pregnant with my son, doesn't mean I EVER had a second of regret, that I didn't want my son.

I'm not even going to get into how I truly feel about this... Not worth it...

Re: It's so easy to get down

I know how you feel. At work, we must have had at least 7 women give birth in the last year. My DH's cousins just had babies this year so I always feel like I am surrounded by babies Chat Icon
And to top it off...they always ask me when do I plan on having mine. I know its an innocent question, but sometimes it hurts to hear, b/c I dont want them to know I am having difficulty. It makes me so sad to even hear them ask me.Chat Icon

Mrs P. I hear where you are coming from, but you have to understand that the OP was a vent about how SHE feels. I don't see how that is selfish? I don't think it is meant to be an attack against people who have unplanned pregnancies and I honestly don't think you should take it personally.

TTC can be a real emotional rollercoaster. As strongly as you feel that you shouldn't be judged for how your DC came about, I think the OP shouldn't be judged for how she feels about her current situation if that makes any sense.

I wasn't talking to the OP, I didn't think she had said anything wrong actually.

The PP did say something wrong. It is NEVER anyones right to say that someone doesn't deserve a baby because they are trying and the other didn't.

I tried to understand, and I even asked if maybe thats not what she meant, since it was said so harshly, but she meant what she said, and I think someone who hasn't even BEGUN TTC, she had some balls... I'm sorry, I'm not one to start drama at all, but those remarks are quite uncalled for.

I stand corrected, you're right it wasn't the OP. Nevertheless, she never said that those people don't deserve a baby just that it isn't fair and I do believe that's true and not just when it comes to TTC...sometimes life just isn't fair.

Having said that a baby is a gift any way you look at it! Don't let anyone else's opinions get to you. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

All I am saying is what they have said to me. How they will feel after they have their babies, IDK. I just know what they have told me about how they feel. And it makes me sad sometimes that so many people in horrible relationships have babies easily while so many others in stable relationships try so hard with no results.

It's nothing personal against you.

Sorry for hijacking the thread OP
