Anybody ever use Merry Maids?
DH has them coming for a free estimate tomorrow. If anybody has used them, were you happy with them as far as quality and value for $? How much did they charge you? Were they more than getting an independent person? I have 3br, 2ba, LR, EIK and playroom. What should I expect to pay?

Re: Anybody ever use Merry Maids?
my friend JUST called them b/c they are about to move into a house in seaford & it is SO nasty they wanted someone to come in and clean the WHOLE thing while it was still empty
its a split level, 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom... kitchen and family room, no basement - they wanted to charge them $500 & thats with NO furniture or anything in the house

Re: Anybody ever use Merry Maids?
they are VERY expensive. If you're looking for a more reasonably priced service, you can try Maid Brigade and Well Maid.

We used them several times in the past and felt they were overpriced. The quality of service varied too.

I agree with this...we used them for my uncle's house a few years back...were ridiculously expensive and did an okay job...nothing great.

Re: Anybody ever use Merry Maids?
we TRIED to use them for a move-out service about 2 months ago.
they NEVER SHOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i called them repeatedly throughout the day while waiting at my old apartment, and had to leave a message on a machine. it took more than an hour to call back each time.
first i was told that they were running late at their earlier job.
then i was told their car broke down.
this was for a saturday appointment. i tried to get them to reschedule for the next day and was told "they don't do that". i think they offered $20 off my next service?! not sure what good that was supposed to do for me when i had to be out of the apartment the following day and give back the keys to the apartment.
