so what if i did gray , and a yellow accent wall? would that work? so i can use both colors?
Sure you could do the yellow as an accent wall. Nice! I'm sure if you go to some place like Ikea for some decor, you might find yellow or even navy. GL with your color decision.  Let us know what you pick.
ETA: What about this? Make sure the yellow you pick goes with the beige you already have. So bring a lot of yellow paint chips home with you. I wouldn't get something too bright. More of a muted yellow. Maybe ask them at the store for a yellow that would go with gray well. Hope that makes sense. There should be an Aboff's near you.

I second the yellow!
it will bring out the wood in the dining room too!
I have yellow/gold livingroom with blue couches. The blue pops & so does the wood against the yellow.
Sounds scary, but it all goes nicely

why don't you do chocolate brown accents instead of painting the room that color?
navy can take a lot of great colors...from lavenders and pinks to greys to a whole assortment of neutrals....
what about painting the entire room a lighter color and accenting it with the darker to complement the rug...
something like this
I really like this...and you could go a nice rich wood with the furnishing...get a great accent PIECE/PAINTING instead of doing an accent wall
you could also go neutral on the walls with some nice light blue furniture and accents. this room is funky!
play around with one of the color coordinators that you can find on Behr.com and BM.com. use navy as your main color and see what accents they suggest you use and take it from there.
I would definitely steer very clear of painting the room choco brown though. 
ETA: didn't realize you had already gotten a TON of great ideas (though I should've known  ) good luck. those choices Jen posted are AWESOME!
