shower ceiling.....is it tiled?
Is your shower ceiling tiled? I thought all shower ceilings were tiled but apparantly not because my tile guy just asked for an extra $200 to tile my shower ceiling.

My entire bathroom is tiled top to bottom--everything EXCEPT the ceiling.

Hi Erin.....so the ceiling above the shower isn't tiled? My bathroom will be tiled top to bottom too.....I just thought the ceiling of the shower was supposed to be tiled.....hmmmm.....now I wonder what I should do.

I can't say that I have ever seen a ceiling tiled in a shower, ours is just drywall.

We are currently in the processing of doing our bathroom over and the ceiling above the shower will most definitely be tiled. The house my DH grew up in had a tiled ceiling and I always loved it.

I have one that is and one that isn't. The shower which has a bath tub is not tiled but the shower which is just a shower is tiled

Ours was not initially tiled, and we started having the paint peel over the shower - so we've since tiled it.

We tiled all the way up the wall and did the ceiling over the shower. I had never seen that before (that I remembered). Our neighbor was our contractor and he showed us how he did the bathroom in his house, and I loved it. And I love ours too. My only regret is that we didn't put a high hat in there- I'd have loved the extra lighting.

None of our 3 shower ceilings are tiled, and when we redo some of them, the ceilings won't be tiled. I don't like the look of it.

We re-did our bathroom 2 years ago and we tiled the entire thing. Floor-Ceiling. I LOVE the way it looks.

The ceiling in our main bath shower is tiled. I don't know if we're going to keep it tiled when we remodel it (depends on what tiles we choose to use in there.)
Our master bath shower ceiling wasn't tiled before the remodel, but we did tile it when we renovated that bath. I wanted a "spa" feeling and I felt the tiles we chose worked well on the ceiling.

Hi!!! our original bathroom was and I hated it. we had it redone and the ceiling is not tiled. make sure to use benjamin moores mildew resistant paint it works like a charm, 2 years and not 1 ounce of mildew anywhere, even on the walls, and they can tint the color for you- we used it everywhere- even on trim. good luck

We renovated our bathroom and built two other full bathrooms and have the tiling above the shower in all three. It is better to have tiling over the shower where it gets steamy to prevent paint chipping or bubbling over the years. It also looks pretty too!
