Re: Benjamin Moore vs. Behr
Posted by MetsGirl07
i actually love Behr over BM.
we have both in our house and i loved the way Behr's came out over the BM. i only had to use 2 coats as well using a dark color.
Same Here. I just painted my master Behr beige. I was covering Dark burgundy. 1 coat primer 1 coat behr and it looks fantastic.

Re: Benjamin Moore vs. Behr
I always liked Sherwin Williams better than all of the other options, so I may be of no help. This may be because they have freestanding stores rather than Home Depot. (I hate the madness that is Home Depot!) There used to be a Sherwin Williams store, in Commack, in the Mayfair Shopping Center on Jericho and my Dad, also in construction but not from Donegal, swears by them. If you hate decorating, you could find someone at that store who will match all of the Behr colors you have already picked, without cost to you, and let you know what they had and the difference in price.

Opinions? thoughts?
DH and I spent 2 hours in Home Depot picking out colors for the ENTIRE house using Behr paints.
Then our fathers, both in construction, say, "that's crap paint. get benjamin moore!" i do NOT want to go through picking all the colors again (I hate decorating ) and Behr is cheaper.
Thoughts? Opinions?
I'm sorry, I nkow this is an older post but the exact same thing happened to me! I looked at sample after sample of Behr at HD then was told that it's good if I want to repaint in 2 yrs or so.
We ended up getting Benjamin Moore and shall see how it holds up!

Re: Benjamin Moore vs. Behr
in my experience and I have painted 3 homes all different rooms I would NEVER get behrs or valspar paint.
only Benjamin moore.
you use less and it has a much finer finish. and the best part it takes a beating and can be cleaned with a magic eraser without messing up the paint. my behrs wall blah- you can see where I used the magic eraser I am currently going to be painting that wall over using bm only.
good luck
