OMG I'm freaking out...I just felt a small lump on DS's head
and not a lump like he hit his head. It is in the back right corner by the bottom of his hair line. It feels like the size of one of those mini M&M's. It's not red or bruised or antyhing. Just like a little lump under his skin.

Maybe you can call the PED. They will tell you if you need to see them immediately, go to the ER or just schedule the 1st appt they have available.

Definitely call your ped, but I believe this is 100% normal. DD had something like that when she was an infant, and the doctor said it was nothing to worry about at all. It went away on its own at some point!

they are probably lymphnodes. My ped said they were normal and nothing to worry about. They go away on their own.

I had a grape sized lump on my neck as a teen... yep, it was a lymph node... It went away on its own. call the ped, but try not to worry

I would NOT rush to the ER or even call your ped right away..its very common, there are lymph nodes all over the skull and very common to feel a little lump like that. It should go away soon..if it is something that persists or gets bigger then place a call..don't freak out!! I promise, its nothing!!

I called the ped and he said to bring him in the morning...it is probably nothing but I am still nervous. I'll let you know what the ped. says tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow! My nephew has had a pretty large one since he was born in the back of his head, about the size of a cheese ball, and though his ped is watching it, he says it is nothing. Best wishes that all is fine!!

How old is he again? DD had something like that in the exact spot on both sides, but one was bigger. I was freaking out, took her to the ped that day , but the ped said it was just some lymph nodes and nothing to worry about . went away on it's own. I think she was little under a year old.
I would go to the ped anyway , but I'm sure it'll turn out to be nothing . Good luck and keep us posted PLEASE.

My niece had that was a gland of some sort. The chances of it being anything major are very slim. Try not to worry

He turned 2 in April. I know it can be normal in younger kids and infants. But not sure about toddlers. The ped said it is most likely a lymph node or some type of a cyst that is not anything to worry about but he still wants to check it.

Im sure it's nothing but a cyst of some sort...
Where exactly is it? Forehead? By the ear? Can you see it? Or do you have to feel it?
There are alot of cysts that are rather common...

Both DSs have this. DS#1 has it in the spot you described, and DS#2 has it right behind his ear. The ped checks them everytime and we have never had to have any further testing. We are both Mediterranean, and apparently it is not uncommon for people of Caucasian and Mediterranean descent.

The same exact thing happened when Damien was about the same age. The ped said it was his lymph nodes and totally normal. Try not to worry (I know easier said then done )

It definitely sounds like a lymph node..
Do a google search on occipital lymph nodes...
Here's a pic I found...seems to show the spot exactly as you discribed...
