OMG...I am SOOOO FURIOUS...
This woman that I work with who is usually nice was in this heated conversation (well it wasnt heated until she joined). My mom got married at 22 and had my bro at 23 (in the 70's) and she pretty much said "well I dont know who your mother hung out with but my generation didnt get married nor pregnant til the 30's. I said that I have plenty of friends that have parents currently in their 50's. She pretty much said it was slutty in a nutshell.
AM I oblivious or did people get married earlier then today from our parents generation?

My mom was 22 and my dad was 23 when they married.
My mom was 25 when I was born and 27 when my brother was born..35 when my sister was born!
How old is this woman? My grandmother got married after 30 and had my dad and then my uncle in her early 30's..she never said my parents were too young or anything like that.

My mom is in her 50's, she got married at 21, and had me at 22 (1 day after her 22nd birthday).
That lady is nuts, I think a lot of people got married and had kids very young.

My mom was 20 and my dad was 21 when they got married. She had all three kids by the time she was 29 (I am the youngest). IMO, people got married much younger back then.

My parents got married when they were 24 and 27, but they didn't have me til 8 years later. BUT they only knew each other 5 months when they got married.
I was 25 and DH was 26 when we got married, so it was pretty much the same

She began to make fun of me in front of everyone bc I said I cant stay up past 11pm now that Gilly is here. She said pretty much...thats just lazy! that I should be staying up much later then that..

Isn't getting married young pretty much the OPPOSITE of being slutty? After all, your parents were raising a family instead of going to clubs and getting high on virtually everything under the sun like their peers!
that woman is rude... and her logic is really flawed. (my mom had me when she was 33, and was prepetually insulted by physicians who said she was REALLY over the hill, and being pregnant was risky at that point  )... and I had pretty much the oldest parents when in school so I don't think 'everyone' was having kids in their 30's in the early 70's...

My parents were married when my mom was 19 & had 3 kids by 21. If she was a ****, then she's certainly calmed down in the 45+ years she's been marrried.

Oh yeah! By the time she got to this part I am sure people knew it was just bc she was MAD. I didnt criticize her for having kids in her 30. SO why criticize my moms choices.

I love you. 
My mom was married at 23 and had me by 25... as did just about everyone else she knows! ALL of my friend's mom's are about the same age as mine unless they have older siblings..
And there is NOTHING lazy about going to bed at 11:00.
This woman has no clue and is basically spewing nonsense probably because she likes the sound of her own voice. Ignore her!
ETA: You're talking about the 70s and she's talking about the 80s - she turned 30 in 1985 - she's talking about a different generation!!! But she's still way off base. Everyone I knew who got married in the 80s was in their 20s... except for the old maid types.

She delivered babies in
1963
1964
1965
1967
1969
She had a few miscarriages.
She had me in 1975. She was 33 when she delivered me.
I think your coworker is an azzzzzzz.

Umm my mom was married and had 3 kids by the age of 22, that was 1972. She had 4 kids by 1979 at 29. So I guess my mother is the MOTHER of all s!uts!

You have every right to be upset with that woman insinuating unflattering things about your mom. My mom got married in her mid 20s and she always told me how she felt that by not getting married at 21 made her an old hag. By today's standards my mom got married at a normal age.

My mom just turned 58 and my sister is 35 turning 36.
ETA: She had 4 kids in 6 years...she was done by the time she was 28.
