i just found out
that my insurance will not cover any ivf or iui or any thing that my re wants to do- they wont even cover the darn clomid-
they only thing they will do it cover all the testing to find out whats going on--
i am soooooooo p i s s e d off-

Can you change policies?
Are you covered at work?
Have you looked to see if husband's policy is better?

I am so sorry. This is all too common and it makes me furious. IF happens to so many people, and it should be covered.
Maybe you can put some money aside in a FSA to cover these expenses? I think you can put in up to $5,000 a year. It will reduce your taxable income, and maybe help you budget for the costs more.

sorry to hear, my old insurance didnt cover much & i have the option of 3 different companies so i switched this year. you may want to see if your company offers other insurance options or your husbands. BUt you will probably have to wait till next year to switch

sadly this is the case with many carriers. I believe mine has a 15,000 lifetime IVF benefit..including tests and such. thats not really much considering one IVF treatment can cost 10K.
I was seriously researching into having IVF done in india. its a fraction of the cost compared to here.

I am going through the exact same thing (my insurance is 1199...same situation). I know how frustrating this can be. I've just started looking into different programs (NYS demonstration project, IVF Attain) and hoping one of those will be helpful.
