Drawer Style Dishwasher
if you have one is it worth the extra money?
DH and I checked out some appliances yesterday - from what we've seen online we think we want to go with KA Architect in SS, so we went to check some stuff out at Sears and I noticed that the drawer style dishwashers were really nice AND they seemed easier to open....almost double the price of the original one we were looking at though

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
I saw them in the stores and thought it was really overpriced. If I had extra money I would splurge on it, but don't. So I guess I will be getting the other ones.

I def don't think we have the extra money for it - DH kept teasing me b/c now we don't even have a dishwasher - he's like,"Nik, compared to actually doing the dishes yourself, i don't think pulling open the dishwasher is going to be a big deal"
he's right, a dishwasher is a big step up i shouldn't be greedy LMAO

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
My parents have a Miele and I love it!! I think you can fit just as much stuff in in and I love the fact that when it's not totally full you can run just the drawer that is full.
Scratch that - it's a Fisher Paykel (?), not a Miele.

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
my parents have it. You can fit a lot but it depends on the height of stuff. Certain pans and pots they can't put in because they are too tall.

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
When I was searching last year, I had my mind set on one of these styles. I was gung-ho about it until I was talked-out of it by the salespeople! I was told that they do not hold nearly as much as a regular washer and that they have more problems than regular dishwashers. That was enough to change my mind!

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
see, i liked that it had a small drawer figuring most of the time we'd be using just that since its just DH and I. The pots and pans I would probably continue washing by hand anyway. I just liked that you could do a "small load"....
i think i will end up with regular though, i rather spend that money on something else

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
I would have loved this feature for bottles. Most of the time I do have a full load to run but it's great option for bottles!

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
I have a 2 drawer one. At first I didn't like it and thought it was annoying to have two different dishwashers and it felt smaller. Now 6 months later I love it. I love that I can have one set of dishes running and still have another place to load dirty dishes. It definitely grew on me!

Re: Drawer Style Dishwasher
I had the F&P model about 5 years ago and I really liked them... At that time it was the 2nd generation model and now I believe they are on its 6th gen models.

Yup we have the fisher paykel double drawer one and it does not hold as much as a regular one does, I hate that, didn't realize that until we got it

I heard that as well.. and also that they dont clean as well but that probably depends on the brand.
