Susan Boyle Gets a New Look
Looks like Susan Boyle went shopping.
On Tuesday, the famously frumpy Britain's Got Talent singer, 48, stepped out in a new patterned dress, leather-look jacket and, yes, high heels, the British Daily Mail points out.

Boyle never ruled out amping up her look ever since she reached international fame for her touching performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables.
"Maybe I'll consider a makeover later on," she told the London Times on Saturday. "For now I'm happy the way I am — short and plump. I would not go in for Botox or anything like that. I'm content with the way I look. What's wrong with looking like Susan Boyle? What's the matter with that?"

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has been against Boyle getting a makeover, saying that that Scottish singing sensation "needs to stay exactly as she is because that's the reason we love her."

Same here
I hope she doesn't change too much though-that's part of her charm. Dress her up a little-pluck her eyebrows and shape her hair but I hope they don't do a total make over job on her.

I don't find it shocking that she has a beautiful voice - but her story makes me react strongly. And I know that not everyone has to or will love her or whatever but she really tugs at my heart strings. And my tear ducts.
That she's been ridiculed for her looks for her whole life, that she was jeered by the audience while talking about achieving her dream - and they were doing that because of her age and because of how she looked - as someone who has spent a lot of her life feeling very ugly, to see someone like her turn the jeers into raucous applause - it's a big deal to me.

That's not what got me. What pulls me in is her story, the fact that the audience and the judges where mocking her, expecting the worst and she came up with the unexpected-a beautiful and moving experience. Everyone expected her to be a joke (shame on them/us), and she turned into a contender.
That's what captured my attention.

Humans are a looks-oriented group. Its how we choose our mates/ partners to have progeny with.
First impressions are everything!
It's ok to not be a size 0 model-esque woman butwe have to expect that comments and judgements will be made.
And come on, they dont have eyebrow waxers/threaders in England?!?!?

The fact that everyone was mocking her etc is what irratated me! I'm glad she blew their socks off. I just feel bad that it was assumed she would be a joke

I hope she's truly happy.  And I hope they don't abuse her and ruin her. Hopefully someone is watching over her for her own well-being and not their pockets.
