Chair Rail in Bath w/o beadboard???

trying to cut costs for the guest bath renovation. want to add beadboard but came across a PB pic with a chair rail and the lower wall painted the same color as the chair rail.

YAY or NAY?

do it! looks great!! may not be good to use the board in a BR so the paint is a great solution!!!

not a huge fan of stark white so the issue would be to match the paint, vanity, toilet, tub, and tub/shower wall tile. yeah, i am just a tad picky. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

hmm, maybe an ivory or creamy white for the paint, vanity, toilet, crown molding, tub and tub/shower wall tile. beige on the upper walls and beige/ivory floor tiles.

you wouldn't use the wood bead board in the bathroom you'd have to use the MDF bead board paneling instead. We just did this and it came out great! The panels are less than $20 each at Lowes

eta ~ the paint looks good too

do you have a pic of your bath?

the powder room has wood bead board and thinking of adding either the mdf beadboard and subway tile in the tub/shower area (replicate pics below) in the guest bath or just a chair rail and the subway tiles.

I didn't want alot of bright white either and since all of the trim in my house is super white & I try to keep that throughout the rooms we decided to do the chair rail with two paint colors. This is our guest bath as well.
