Does your LP always have to be 2 weeks?

For example, if you O late does AF definately come late? If I O on CD15 will AF definately come on or close to CD29 or can your LP be longer than 2 weeks?TIA

i really am not sure, but i remember my first doc telling me that it's always 14 days...but don't quote me on that

A textbook LP ranges from 12 to 16 days. It's unlilkely that it would be much longer than 16 days, but can be shorter. Any shorter than about 10 days could make it difficult for a fertilized egg to implant though and could be an indication of hormonal issues.

Have you been through several cycles yet? If you've come off of BCP, it may take a few months for your cycle to regulate, but if you know your cycle well and your LP has remained constant and you expect it a certain number of days after you ovulate, then, yes, if you ovulate late, your period should come late.

mine used to be 14 days consistently but when they started getting wacky i noticed it was off by a day or 2 here and there. i was told that happens.

they get concerned when its less than 10days.

I do not think most people have a 14 day LP...I know mine was only 7-8 days which is not long enough to sustain a pregnancy

Mine was 10 days, so I started taking B6 and I'm not sure if it worked, but last month it was 11. Either way, like others have said average range is 12-16 days.
