Cloth diaper spinoff
Can someone REALLY explain it in laymans terms.
Like for instance....The Indian or chinese fold ones. What do you do? Put them on the inside of a diaper cover and where do you put the soiled diaper? Wet and then poop?
I HATE poop and am really a wee bit nervous about using them b.c of it, but I really WANT to use them.
Can we hear experiences on what you use and how often you launder etc?

Re: Cloth diaper spinoff
I did some reasearch just now. My mom is really pressuring me to do the cloth diaper thing. i am not so sure I am into it.
This website has a ton of info they offer sample packages for about 35$ so you don't have to spend a ton and find out you hate them.

Re: Cloth diaper spinoff
It looks like you throw the poop in the toliet and then put the diaper in a diaper pail. Then you launder them every other day. Once on a regular cold cycle with soap (but not baby soap or free and clear ) and then run it through hot with no soap.
seems like a lot of work. I wish there were diaper services more available on LI!

Re: Cloth diaper spinoff
I use bumgenius 3.0 one-size diapers on my twins. They are so easy to use. You stuff the insert in the pocket, and then put it on the baby like a disposable. Then when it is dirty, you put them in a dry pail. (yes even the poopy ones.) I wash every other day, all the poop comes out. Its a little gross to pull out the wet or poopy inserts, but not really a big deal. When they get a little older and the poop becomes more solid I'll dump the poop in the toilet first. It was an initial investment of about $300, but I never have to buy diapers.

I use prefolds on my newborn. They are so easy and I like them so much more than sposies. I'm also using a new diaper called Grobaby that I love.
NAK, but will try to explain. Laundry is no big deal, BF poo is completely water soluble and rinses off cleanly in the washer. All dirties go into a wetbag and straight into the wash. I know it sounds weird, but it's not gross at all. I do a quick rinse on cold and a regular wash on hot.

Re: Cloth diaper spinoff
We Loved Cloth Dipaering! We started with Fuzzi Bunz at a few months old. They are SO adroable looking, so soft so much healther for a babies bottom, so economical, I can go on
Like other have mentioned the early months poo is water solualbe so it disovles just as easy as pee would and once the child gets older and the poo firms up you simply flush it in the toilet where poo belongs! We used to wash maybe every 1 - 2 days eveything all in one bag made of PUL, inserts, diapers, cloth wipes, even the bag got washed. We always line dried or sun dried the diapers but the inserts and wipes we put in the dryer.
