For those who will be living in an apartment...

DH and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. We will be purchasing a crib for the baby, as well as a bassinet for our bedroom for the first few weeks in case I am nervous leaving him/her on their own.

Anyway- I was thinking about whether or not I should bother registering for a pack and play...

If I am in the living room, I can bring the bassinet out, or use the crib since baby's bedroom will be right next to the living room..

Should I bother? Chat Icon

im not in an apartment but id opt for a pack and play over the bassinet if only picking one...

the bassinet doesnt get used for very long, the packand play can last you a couple of years, and you can bring it places with you like the grandparents house

We are borrowing a bassinet. We bought a crib, and are registering for a PnP. We're in an apartment, but because of where the bassinet will be situated in our BR, it will actually be a pain to lug it out to the LR. And also, we can bring the PnP to Grandma's, etc.

We don't have a pnp. We have a bassinet in our room that's on wheels & can be moved wherever I want it. We also have the swing & the bouncer where I can put him down. Both sets of grandparents have a pnp from DD so we're not worried about travelling with it.

We live in a 2 b/r house and were doing the PNP and crib. No bassinet. We figure we'll get more use out of the pnp than a bassinet, since we can use it anywhere anytime. And if we travel anywhere we dont have to worry about what kind of crib they have in the hotel, we can just bring our pnp.

we live in a one bedroom apartment, but we have access to a private basement...our bedroom is really big. We'll be buying a bassinet and using it for the first few months. (We're not even setting up the crib until necessary). Not sure about the pack and play--they seem like a good idea for traveling-- we frequently go away for long weekends. I wonder how easy they are to actually "pack" and travel with...

We got one to keep at my Mom's house. That way the baby has somewhere to sleep there.. but, if we need it for a vacation we can take it.

We have an apartment sized house.. acutally only one bedroom. So we didn't think it was needed.

Us too. The pack n play has a bassinet. I figure later we can leave the pack n play at my mom's for when we visit.

ETA: We're in a house, not an apt., but it's a ranch so we won't be spread out on different floors.

They are very easy to travel with. We've brought ours on a few road trips. And even to people's houses when we knew it would be a late night (bdays, holidays, etc...)

We live in a 3 bedroom condo. We have a pack and play and crib. The pack & play with bassinet was in our room for the first few weeks before we moved DD to her room. Then we folded up the pack & play and now use it when we travel. IMO the bassinet would have been a hassle because its only used for a few weeks and then would have been in the way.

we got a pack-n-play and a crib. the pack-n-play has a bassinet so i didn't see the need to get a separate one.
