Does anyone purposely not tan?

At the gym I have been getting a little pressure by my friends to hit the tanning bed. I tan very easily but I really don't go into the sun without an spf 50 when at the park or beach or a 15 moisturizer for mornings etc. Am I the only one who doesn't go tanning?

I never tan! I won't even garden without sunscreen.

ETA--I do the same as you- moisturizer with SPF for day to to day walking to the tan, etc, sunscreen for being outside for longer than that.

That's awful that your friends re presuring you to tan. Would they pressure you to smoke?

Get a fake tan if you have to, but I prefer to go pale.

Do your friends realize just how bad tanning beds are?
Hey if they want to do it fine- I don't care what anyone else does- but they shouldn't be pressuring you to do something that is so unhealthy and dangerous.

And putting the dangers aside- who wants to age their skin like that? I have seen women in their 40's who look like they are in their 60's from too much sun exposure and constant tanning.
You can always tell someone who was a sun worshipper/tanner once they hit a certain age...

And to answer your question- I NEVER use tanning beds and I wear sunscreen outside. I love tanning creams though!

I never have never will. I get enough tan in summertime even with a sunscreen on which I always wear. Plus I am on a darker side(Olive) anyway and look tanned year round,lol.
I don't know why but tanning beds just creep me .

I have fair skin, so I NEVER use tanning beds, I use 15-30SPF in the summer and it helps me not burn but get a nice tan.

I NEVER try to get a tan. I wear spf everyday and when I go on vacation or the beach I have on at least spf 50, a big hat, and I sit under an umbrella. Tanning is so bad for your skin and you can see how damaging it is for your skin. If you want to get tanned I would look into spray tanning but definitely stay away from tanning beds.

Never EVER tan. It's the worst thing for your skin.Wanna age fast? That's the way to do it. I wear SPF and sunglasses all year long. On beaches I wear a sun hat and sit under an umbrella as well. Embrace the pale

I am very pale and I wont tan. I dont care how white I am, I dont have a problem with it.

I'm over it...I'm pale and freckly and my skin just isn't meant to be in the sun....I've already damaged it enough by trying to constantly tan it the first 20 years of my life. Now I'm into protecting it.

no tanning for me! I am very fair skinned and did more than my share of tanning when I was younger - with baby oil!

i'm fair but tan easily - though i didn't ever have a tan until i was 22 because i didn't even TRY until then.

i tanned from 22 - 25 pretty hardcore and while i miss how i looked with darker skin, i wouldn't go back to that ever again. too dangerous.

Not since high school; I worked at Lido Beach one summer and got tan, but that was it. Compared to a lot of women who are my age, my skin looks pretty good, and I think a lot has to do with the fact that I never tanned (tanning really was huge in the late 80s when I was in hs- most of the girls did it.)

no way I never go tanning. I don't want to take any chances, there's a lot of skin cancer in my family and we're all very pale. When I was younger I'd spend a lot of time in the sun without sunscreen & my skin really shows the effects from that & I regret it a lot. For my wedding I went to brazil bronze for spray tanning, but aside from that, I stick with my pale skin.

I never stepped foot in a tanning salon. I don't even go out in the sun without SPF 50+. I am as white as a ghost and love it!

I don't tan, and I always wear 30+ sunscreen. I love my ivory white skin.

I am beyond pale, and allergic to the sun, so no, I never tan. I also don't go out in the summer with less than SPF 50.

I used to go tanning all the time. My SIL also owned a tanning salon, so we would go for free. I got skin cancer a year ago and have not been in a bed since. I wear SPF 55 on my face everyday and I'm super careful in the sun now.

It's totally not worth it.

i am PALE white and after a horrible horrible sunburn i got in 2002 (my legs and arms were so swollen i couldn't bend them at ALL) i will never tan again (not that i did anyway, i always burned). i wear a minimum of SPF 30 when i am at the beach, and my foundation has SPF in it as well.

while yeah, it might be nice to look tan, i will never have that golden color without being red and peely first so it's not worth it to me. i am trying to embrace my paleness!!
